Abstract:
A printer for printing on a medium on an endless belt by printer heads includes: a generator generating printing data for each printer head; a detector detecting time-series data for the meandering of the medium; a generator generating correction data preventing disorder of a printed image due to the meandering; and a controller operating each printer head according to the correction and printing data, wherein the correction-data generator selects a specific difference between factors in the time when the time-series and predetermined time-series data are related and newly generates correction data corresponding to the selected factor, a replacement section replaces a factor in the time corresponding to the specific factor of the reference time-series data with the specific factor, and the time-series-data detector has a stop stopping detection of the time-series data when the absolute change value of a physical value influencing meandering is a predetermined value or less.

Abstract:
An image reading device includes a memory unit for storing positional information of a sensor for moving by a drive unit to read an image of a document and a control unit for controlling the drive unit to move the sensor based on the positional information stored in the memory unit. The control unit drives the drive unit by an amount of driving sufficient for an image reading unit to move in a predetermined direction to abut the stop members, controls the drive unit to move the sensor so as to detect the position mark, and updates the positional information of the memory unit to a predetermined initial value based on the detection of the position mark by the sensor. The image reading device can store data of a reference position promptly even if a photo-interrupter is not provided when the data of the reference position is not stored in a memory unit.
Abstract:
A full-zone optical image addressing apparatus, including an addressing device, an image extraction converter, a comparator, an AND gate and a counter. The addressing device is located at the enclosure of the scanner and includes a plurality of geometric patterns. Each of the geometric patterns includes a plurality of rows of pixels. While receiving an exposure signal, the image extraction converter extracts one row of pixels from the addressing device, such that a series of analog signals is obtained and output to the comparator. The comparator then compares the series of analog signals to an analog critical voltage to output a series of analog comparison signals to the AND gate. The AND gate synchronously processes the series of analog comparison signals and a pixel rate clock to output the pixel data corresponding to the extracted row of pixels to the counter. After receiving the synchronously processed pixel value from the AND gate, the counter calculates and outputs the extracted row of pixels, including the amount of pixels and the geometric patterns in the row of pixels.

Abstract:
An image scanning apparatus with scan-starting point positioning function comprising a casing, a carriage and a calibration sheet is provided. Of which, the casing comprises a scan-platform used to place documents to be scanned, while the calibration sheet, which is fixed to the inner surface of the carriage and lies between the home line of the carriage and the upper wider margin of the scan-platform, comprises a hollowed-out mark completed through a punch-cutting manufacturing process. The mark can be defined using a predefined function set and has a reference point. After the carriage has moved to a scan line, the reference point can be located according to the intersection points between the mark scanned and the scan line accompanied by the predefined function set of the mark. Of which, the calibration sheet and the inner surface of the casing are of different levels of brightness.
Abstract:
A serial scanner apparatus, correction method thereof, and storage medium for performing bi-directional reading with high precision and greatly improving the reading speed. A carriage is first driven in the forward direction, then reversed, and driven in the backward direction. The carriage is accelerated until the speed reaches a predetermined velocity v1. When the predetermined velocity v1 is reached, the carriage is driven at constant speed. In the head portion of the constant-speed driving area, a correction area (reference correction area), having the same distance as that of the correction area for forward driving, is provided. With the use of an area (actual correction area) obtained by adding an area for correction time stored by a controller unit to the reference correction area, read-start timing is adjusted and the bi-directional error is corrected.

Abstract:
A scanner unit as an image read-out apparatus has a document glass on which a document is placed, an exposure lamp for illuminating the document with light, a CCD line sensor for receiving reflected flight from the document and converting the light to electric signal, first to third mirrors for conducing the reflected light from the document to the CCD sensor and a light condensing lens for allowing the reflected light which is conducted through the first to the third mirrors to condense on the CCD line sensor. In a position away from a document effective area at which the document is set on a document glass a chart is printed or attached to allow diagnosis to be made for the “displacements” of scanner unit's respective constituent elements, that is, optical members such as the exposure lamp, first to third mirrors, lens and CCD line sensor.
Abstract:
A printing device reads an image on a printing paper with an image pickup part. It image-processes obtained image data in a control part, and operates the positions of respective register marks (R1 to R4). It operates the quantity of displacement necessary for positioning an image. It obtains an offset count number Co for deciding an image recording starting position from the obtained quantity of displacement. It stores the obtained offset count number Co while obtaining starting position data. Then, dimensional correction data for the image is calculated. The image on the printing paper is first picked up, and the necessary quantity of displacement is calculated. A speed coefficient k is calculated for changing the rotational speed of a plate cylinder. Following this, a correction quantity by a Cd default count number previously set for deciding the image recording starting position is changed. Accordingly, the offset count number Co is calculated again on the basis of the obtained speed variable k. The obtained speed coefficient k and the offset count number Co are stored, and starting position data is obtained from both data.
