Abstract:
A patch panel is disclosed which is easily expandable as required by a customer and which substantially simplifies conventional field servicing practices. The invention provides a patch panel comprising an assembly of at least one connector and printed circuit board with the connector being mounted upon the printed circuit board; a mount for removably supporting the assembly of at least one connector and printed circuit board in a desired location relative to the mount and a panel for detachably holding the mount in a predetermined position to the panel such that the panel prevents removal of the assembly of at least one connector and printed circuit board from the mount.

Abstract:
A communication system is adapted to accommodate changes to bandwidth demand through the use of communiucation interface modules, such as radio modules (121-124), are coupled to a communication signal processor, such as a multi-port modem (110), in order to serve an initial bandwidth demand. Thereafter, additional communication signal processors may be added, being coupled to one or more of the communication interface modules (121-124) decoupled from the initially deployed communication signal processor (110), to serve an increased bandwidth demand. Preferably, an expansion chassis architecture is used to accomodatea number of communication signal processors atleast equivalent to the number of communication information interfaces of the plurality. In preferred embodiments, the communication interface modules operate upon different channels, such as radio frequency channels, although coupling to the communication signal processor upon a same channel, sucha as a common intermediate frequency channel.
Abstract:
A modular expandible bidirectional connection board comprises a plurality of ports, each of an average converting type, i.e. designed for individually coupling, through an impedance matching assembly, lengths of different transmissive media, the board being characterized in that it comprises a box-like construction, a casing (13) preferably made of a plastics material, including two casing portions, i.e. a front side (4) and a rear side (5), defining therebetween a chamber for housing an electronic card (6) and related components such as coaxial connector (15) N3 (1.0/2.3), three-way mini wire-wrap contacts (14) and the impedance matching elements (18).

Abstract:
The invention relates to a distributor device (1) for use in communication and data systems technology, comprising at least one distributor connection module (7). Said distributor connection module (7) comprises a housing (16, 17) which houses input and output contacts, accessible from the exterior, for connecting lines, cables or wires. The distributor device (1) comprises at least one additional connection module (2) which comprises at least one SDH/SONET transport interface (6) and outputs for electrical signals. The outputs of the connection module (2) are connected to inputs of the distributor connection module (7). The connection module (2) comprises at least one converter for converting SDH/SONET transport signals to E1 signals and vice versa. The invention also relates to a corresponding connection module (2) and a corresponding distributor connection module (7).
