Abstract:
Disclosed herein are embodiments of batch-style bottom-discharge rotary debarkers for removing bark from a batch of logs in a bin and discharging debarked logs from a bottom of the bin. In some embodiments, the bin includes four walls and an opening in its bottom. In some embodiments, the debarkers include a plurality of rotors, a plurality of chutes, and a plurality of conveyor belt systems for carrying bark and logs away from the bin. In some embodiments, the debarkers include an internal gate which can be moved between a debarking configuration and an unloading configuration.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a barking machine which comprises a frame (1), barking rotor (2), which is rotably mounted on the frame (1) and which barking rotor comprises a rotor frame (3), barking blades (4) mounted on the rotor frame (3), and a first power unit (5) mounted on the rotor frame (3) that is connected to the barking blades (T) for trnsferring the barking force into them. According to the invention in the barking rotor there is arranged an adjustment device (6) movable with respect to the rotor frame, and a second power unit (7) which is mounted on the frame (3) for transmitting the barking force via the first power unit (5) to the barking blades (4). This solution enables one to adjust the barking depth of the barking blades without stopping the barking rotor.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, a feeding device may comprise a support having feed cylinders arranged in a free end of a respective supporting arm and driven in rotation, wherein the supporting arms in a supported end are journalled in the support on shafts extending in parallel with each other and are pivotable about the shafts between a home position and a pivoted work position, and wherein the supporting arms are mutually connected to each other via a system of articulated links and by means of the links are forced to pivot jointly about their respective shafts, and a movement damping element, which is separate from the support, is integrated in the system of links and independently from the support configured to brake the return movement of the supporting arms from the pivoted position.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a phase shifting debarker. The shifting debarker generally comprises a phase shifting mechanism being powered by a main motor and being connected to an operative assembly by the mean of timing belts. The main motor is being configured to control, by the mean of a belt, the movement of the phase shifting mechanism which is being adapted to control the movement of the operative assembly by the mean of the timing belts. The operative assembly generally comprises an actuator ring and a main ring. The activation of the shifting mechanism creates a shift phase between the actuator ring and the main ring while rotating at the same speed.
Abstract:
A method and system for detecting and controlling the quality of debarking at the surface of a wooden log provide information on main parameters related to the debarking quality of the log surface, including fiber loss and residual bark. The debarking quality detecting method and system involve measurement of three-dimensional profile of at least a portion of the log surface to generate corresponding profile image data, which is processed to generate data indicative of the texture of the log surface. The texture data is then analyzed to generate resulting data on the debarking quality parameters. That quality indicative information can be generated on a continuous basis to provide an objective assessment of the quality performance in real-time in view of target productivity, and may then be used to perform optimal adjustments of the debarker operating parameters, either manually by the operator or automatically through feedback control.
Abstract:
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for debarking logs are shown and described. The disclosed embodiments can be easily adjusted to process different logs. Air-cell rings provide for a wide range of force gradients to process both large and small diameter logs. The rings include force gradient adjustment mechanisms configurable to provide different force gradients to process logs.
