Abstract:
A refrigerator oil composition for a fluoroalkane refrigerant, which comprises a base oil composed principally of an oxygen-containing compound and, based on the total weight of the composition, 0.005-5.0 wt. % of a boron compound as an essential component.
Abstract:
Lubricating compositions including crystalline boric acid and a base lubricant selected from oils, greases and the like. The lubricity of conventional oils and greases can also be improved by adding concentrates of boric acid.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a antimicrobially effective amount of a combination of an pyrithione and a lipopeptide antibiotic. Also disclosed is an aqueous industrial functional fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid medium and an antimicrobially effective amount of a combination of a pyrithione and a lipopeptide antibiotic. Also disclosed is a process for providing biocidal activity to an aqueous industrial functional fluid which comprises incorporating into said fluid an antimicrobially-effective amount of a combination of a pyrithione and a lipopeptide antibiotic.
Abstract:
An additive for a single stage aqueous alkaline cleaning composition for metal surfaces which imparts improved lubricity to the metal surfaces being treated. The additive is a fatty amine, preferably an ethoxylated fatty diamine.
Abstract:
A permanent mold casting powdery mold releasing agent according to this invention consists of a granulated or powdery mixture of a lubricant, an organic polymer and a metal soap; wherein the lubricant is coated with the organic polymer or the metal soap. Therefore, the mold releasing agent allows productions of castings of high quality, in a parmanent mold casting work, with good workability and without worsening environmental situations.
Abstract:
A water washable thermally conductive grease useful for thermal coupling of electronic chips and heat sinks in electronic modules comprises a hydrophilic alkylene oxide modified silicone carrier, and up to 90 weight percent of a microparticulate thermally conductive filler. In a preferred embodiment, the thixotropic dielectric composition further comprises an antioxidant and an ionic surfactant to promote wetting/dispersion of the microparticulate filler. The thermally conductive grease is non-corrosive, resistant to shear induced phase destabilization and capable of being washed from module surfaces with aqueous solutions. Substitution of the present hydrophilic based greases for art-recognized solvent washable greases eliminates use of non-aqueous solvents in electronic module processing/reprocessing operations.
Abstract:
A silicone grease composition comprising:(A) 100 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane containing at least two silicon-bonded vinyl groups per molecule and having a viscosity at 25.degree. C. of from 10 to 1,000,000 cSt;(B) from 10 to 200 parts by weight of a filler comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, zinc carbonate, a composite zinc white, and silica; and(C) from 0.001 to 0.1 part by weight of platinum or a platinum compound.
Abstract:
Piston deposits resulting from neutralizing combustion acids present in the lubricating oil circulating within the lubrication system of an internal combustion engine are reduced or eliminated by first cntacting the acids with a soluble weak base in the piston ring zone of the engine to form soluble neutral salts containing the weak base and the combustion acids. Thereafter, the neutral salts are contacted with a heterogenous strong base immobilized within the lubrication system but outside of the piston ring zone. The strong base displaces the weak base from the neutral salts, returning the weak base to the oil for recirculation to the piston ring zone for further use. The remaining strong base/combustion adic salts are immobilized as deposits with the strong base rather than on the piston. In a preferred embodiment, trioctadecyl amine is the weak base and magnesium oxide is the strong base.
Abstract:
Lubricating compositions for use with fiber optic elements and method for their preparation are claimed. Lubricating compositions are made from a mixture of polybutene and hydrophobic silica. The other ingredients such as oily polybutene, an amine phosphate, mineral oil, polytetrafluoroethylene, polyethylene are optional. Other materials such as coloring agents and antioxidants can be also used.
Abstract:
A die-casting powdery mold releasing agent according to this invention is a mold releasing agent comprising a mixture of powdery or granulated mold releasing base material composed of an inorganic compound as used for lubricant in a solid form and an organic compound giving adhesive property to the mold releasing agent, the both having powdery or granulated configurations, or configurations in which the organic compound is covered on the mold releasing base material. The mold releasing agent allows production of castings of high quality, in the die-casting method with good workability and without worsening environmental situations.
