Abstract:
An optical head device which improves light utilization efficiency and can be economically produced. The device comprises a glass substrate (1) having a surface of a transparent SiON-base thin film with a pattern of dry-etched recesses (2), and a second glass substrate (3) having a polyimide film as an orientation film. The two substrates are joined with epoxy resin (5) in such a manner that their surfaces are opposed to define a sealed space into which liquid crystal (6) is filled by suction, so that an optically anisotropic diffraction grating is formed. A lambda /4 film (7) is laminated on the outer surface of the second glass substrate (3), and the third glass substrate (9) is bonded to the substrate (3) by a photopolymer (8) to form a diffraction device (10), which is interposed between a light source and an optical recording medium.
Abstract:
A reflection type color liquid crystal display apparatus comprising a polarizing plate (1) having an absorbing axis (18), a birefringent plate (3), a liquid crystal layer (6) and reflection layer (8) wherein the absorbing axis (18), a first orientation (14), a second orientation (15), a first optical anisotropic axis (16) and a second anisotropic axis (17) are set so as to form predetermined crossing angles ( theta 1, theta 2, theta 3, theta 4) and selected voltage values of at least three values are applied to the liquid crystal layer (6) from a multiplex driving circuit (10). Without using a color filter, a very bright chromatic color (white or black) is displayed at the time of an OFF waveform even in multiplex driving, and development of colors of very bright red, blue and green can be obtained with a selection voltage or an intermediate voltage between the selection voltage and a non-selection voltage.

Abstract:
A coating resin composition containing a functional fluororesin (a), a curing agent (b) that can cross-link the fluororesin (a), and an oligomer (c) of a hydrolyzable tetrafunctional silane compound. It can prevent streaky stain from occurring in the part where raindrops gather and flow, such as the lower part of a window frame of a building.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a method of producing a polyether ester polyol having polycarboxylic acid residue(s) in the vicinity of its terminal(s) in the presence of a catalyst comprising a composite metal cyanide complex. The method comprises reacting a polyether polyol of a hydroxyl value of 400 or below, a polycarboxylic acid anhydride and a monoepoxide with one another in the presence of said complex catalyst. The invention also relates to a method of producing flexible polyurethane foam, polyurethane elastomer and so forth from the above-mentioned polyether ester polyol. The flexible polyurethane foam has a high fusibility and can afford a laminate of a high adhesion strength when laminated with, for exemple, fabric. The polyurethane elastomer has properties superior to those of other elastomers produced from polyether polyol or polyester polyol.
Abstract:
A rigid foam is produced by reacting a polyisocyanate compound with an active hydrogen compound including one which contains a neutralized salt group or an alkoxide group in its molecule in the presence of a halogenated hydrocarbon blowing agent and auxiliaries such as a catalyst. Said active hydrogen compound is preferably a polyol, especially a polyether polyol. The method of the invention serves particularly to solve the problem of the deterioration of the physical properties of a rigid foam produced by using a hydrogen-containing halogenated hydrocarbon blowing agent, and can give a rigid foam which is equivalent to one produced by using a conventional hydrogen-free halogenated hydrocarbon blowing agent.
