    Abstract: Una prensa (10, 120) de alta presión, que comprende un recipiente (12) a presión rodeado por un bastidor (14) absorbente de fuerza de la prensa que comprende columnas (16, 122, 124), y primeros medios de monitorización para monitorizar la presión en el interior del recipiente a presión, caracterizada porque los medios de monitorización comprenden medios (34, 64) de detección para detectar cambios en la longitud de al menos una de las citadas columnas (16, 122, 124), y una pieza (26, 52, 128, 130) con forma de barra no cargada colocada esencialmente paralela y contigua a dicha columna, en el exterior del bastidor de la prensa sobre una cara del mismo que no mira hacia el recipiente a presión, de tal manera que la posición de una primera parte (30) de la pieza con forma de barra es esencialmente constante con respecto a la posición de una primera parte de la columna, y de tal manera que se permita a la columna que se mueva libremente de modo que la posición relativa entre una segunda parte (32) de la pieza con forma de barra y una segunda parte de la columna es variable, en la cual dichos medios de detección están adaptados para detectar el cambio en longitud de dicha columna en la forma de una posición modificada de dicha segunda parte de la columna con respecto a dicha segunda parte de la pieza con forma de barra, en la cual los citados medios de detección comprenden un interruptor (68) limitador que está adaptado para determinar si el cambio detectado en la longitud de la columna ha alcanzado un valor umbral, preferiblemente correspondiente a una presión predeterminada en el interior del recipiente a presión y que está adaptada para, si se ha alcanzado dicho valor umbral, abrir un circuito que interrumpe una operación de prensado en curso mediante la liberación de la presión del interior del recipiente a presión.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a press of pressure cell type, which comprises a press chamber in which a diaphragm device is arranged. The diaphragm device includes a diaphragm which together with a press plate forms a pressure cell and is adapted to exert a forming pressure on a workpiece in the press chamber. The edge area of the diaphragm is placed in an annular diaphragm support. The press of pressure cell type also comprises actuating means which are adapted to actively exert a force on the diaphragm support in the direction of the press plate, the diaphragm support pressing the edge area of the diaphragm against the press plate so that an initial seal is provided between the diaphragm at its edge area and the press plate, which seal is built up when supplying pressure medium to the pressure cell by expansion of the diaphragm. The invention also relates to a diaphragm device, a method for applying a pressing power and a method for exchanging a diaphragm in a press of pressure cell type.

    Abstract: A method for treatment of one or more wood elements by pressurization comprises the steps embedding the wood elements into a pressure medium, of increasing the pressure in the pressure medium, whereby the wood element is compressed by transmitting the pressure via the pressure medium to the wood elements, and of reducing the pressure in the pressure medium, whereby the wood element is relieved. During the treatment, liquid present in the wood elements is driven out therefrom. The pressure medium comprises a plurality of solid bodies with intermediate spaces. The solid bodies transmit the pressure to the wood elements such that a pressure difference arises between the wood elements and said spaces, which pressure difference drives out the liquid. During the relief phase, the wood elements substantially resume their original shape. The method can also be used for introducing impregnating liquid into the wood elements after the liquid expulsion.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pressure vessel (1) for a high pressure press, wherein the pressure vessel comprising a first sub-cylinder (4), a second sub-cylinder (6), pre-stressing means (8), and a securing member (16). The first and the second sub-cylinders (4, 6) are axially connected to form a cylinder body (2) for enclosing a high pressure medium. The first sub- cylinder (4) is in an outer wall provided with a first seat (22) for receiving a first part (24) of the securing member (16) and the second sub-cylinder (6) is in an outer wall provided with a second seat (26) for receiving a second part (28) of the securing member (16). The securing member (16) is fitted in the first and second seats (22, 26). The securing member (16), and the first and second seats (22, 26) are arranged such that the securing member (16), and the first and second seats (22, 26) cooperate to prevent separating axial movement between the first and the second sub-cylinders (4, 6). The pre- stressing means (8) is provided around the envelope surface of the cylinder body (2) such that the cylinder body (2) is radially pre-stressed and such that the securing member (16) is locked in the first and second seats (22, 26).

    Abstract: A method of cooling a load provided in a load compartment in a furnace chamber of a furnace of a hot isostatic pressing device includes releasing hot pressure medium from the load compartment. The thus obtained mixed pressure medium is led into the load compartment. A hot isostatic pressing device includes a load compartment having an aperture near an upper portion thereof configured to vent warm pressure medium into a region surrounding the compartment and a conduit configured to introduce cool pressure medium into the region surrounding the compartment for mixing with the warm medium. The compartment also includes an aperture near a lower portion thereof configured to receive a mix of warm and cool pressure medium from the region surrounding the compartment.
