    Abstract: A cable failure device for a cable-operated door operated by a tensioned cable, the cable-operated door having a movement guided along a fixed structure, such as a guide rail. The cable failure device is configured for cooperating with the tensioned cable so as to immobilize the cable-operated door with respect to the fixed structure in the event of a loss of tension in the cable. The cable failure device included a support bracket for mounting the cable failure device onto the door, a guiding assembly operatively mounted for guiding the movement of the door along the fixed structure, and a braking assembly operatively mounted onto the support bracket, and operable between a rest position where the guiding assembly is allowed to guide the door along the fixed structure, and an operable position triggered by a given loss of tension detected in the tension cable where the braking assembly engages a portion of the fixed structure for braking movement of the cable-operated door with respect to the fixed structure. The cable failure device also includes a safety arm operatively connected to the braking assembly and cooperating with the tensioned cable so as to detect the given loss of tension. The safety arm is operable between a safety configuration where it is positioned over at least one fastener of a corresponding hole of the support bracket when there is still a given tension in the tensioned cable, for preventing a user from removing the support bracket from the door, and a retracted configuration where the safety arm is positioned away from the fastener when the given tension is no longer present in the cable, thereby enabling the user access to the fastener. Thus, the cable failure device is configured for immobilizing the door in the event of a loss of tension and for preventing a user from removing the device from the door when there is still tension in the cable.

    Abstract: A security seal for a collar used for tensioning springs in garage door assemblies. A collar typically includes at least one set screw projecting outwardly and at least two winding holes. The security seal of the invention includes a generally longitudinal piece of flexible material having two opposite ends, the opposite ends being provided with a locking system for locking the opposite ends together in a permanent fashion. The seal also has at least one hollow cup adapted to receive the at least one set screw and at least two solid cups, each of the cups being adapted to fit with a corresponding winding hole. The hollow cup and the at least two solid cups are disposed on the security seal so that wh en the seal is locked above the collar, the hollow cup and the solid cups are in registration with the at least one set screw and the at least two winding holes respectively.

    Abstract: A cable failure device for a cable-operated door operated by a tensioned cable, the cable-operated door having a movement guided along a fixed structure, such as a guide rail.     Abstract: A frame assembly (1) and a method for installing a window pane (3) in an opening (5) of a panel (7). The assembly (1) includes an outer frame (9) having connecting devices (15) and an abutment member (17).     Abstract: A device (1) for bending an extremity (3) of a torsional spring (5). The device includes a base plate (7); at least one flange (9) projecting from th e base plate; at least one bulge (11) projecting from the at least one flange; a lever arm (13) pivotally mounted onto the at least one flange about a first pivot axis; and at least one cam pivotally mounted onto the lever arm about a second pivot axis. The lever arm is operable between first and second positions and each cam (15) has a contact surface (21) being positioned for operatively cooperating with a corresponding bulge. Prior to the bending operation, the extremity of the torsional spring is inserted between a given bulge and the contact surface (21) of a corresponding cam when the lever arm is in the first position. In operation, the extremity of the spring is bent about the given bulge by the contact surface of the corresponding cam when t he contact surface is urged towards the bulge and forced about the same over th e extremity of the spring as the lever arm is operated into the second positio n. The device enables an easier, simpler and more cost effective way of bending an extremity of a torsional spring, without the use of heat for bending the spring tail, and may be easily transportable from one site to another. Moreover, the device can be used for bending the extremities of torsional springs having different wire sizes.

    Abstract: A device for bending an extremity of a torsional spring. The device includes a base plate; at least one flange projecting from the base plate; at least one bulge projecting from the at least one flange; a lever arm pivotally mounted onto the at least one flange about a first pivot axis; and at least one cam pivotally mounted onto the lever arm about a second pivot axis.
