Abstract:
The present invention relates to a kit comprising at least one base plate for adhesive attachment to the skin around at least one body opening. The kit further comprises at least one separate peripheral device for attachment to the base plate. The base plate comprises a backing layer, having a proximal side facing the user during use, where a skin friendly adhesive is disposed on said proximal side of the backing layer and wherein the base plate is an intact base plate thereby allowing a hole to be cut at a desired position before use. The separate peripheral device comprises a continuous adhesive ring for permanent adhesive attachment between the continuous adhesive ring of the peripheral device and the distal side of the backing layer of the base plate. This allows the user to provide a custom fit for irregular body openings.
Abstract:
A telescopic device comprising a first telescopic member and a second telescopic member, where the second telescopic member is displaceably arranged within the first telescopic member in a first and a second axial direction along the longitudinal axis of the first telescopic member, a coupling arrangement for limiting the displacement of the second telescopic member relative to the first telescopic member where the coupling arrangement has a first and a second coupling configuration.
Abstract:
A pump is provided for a body implantable prosthesis that includes a reservoir maintaining a fluid volume that is transferrable into a cylinder. The pump includes a pump bulb (40), an inlet valve (54), an exhaust valve (56), and an anti-auto inflation (AAI) valve (60). The pump bulb is connected to a pump body that is in fluid communication with the reservoir and the cylinder. The inlet valve is operable to allow a portion of the fluid volume to be drawn from the reservoir and delivered into the pump bulb. The exhaust valve is operable to allow the portion of the fluid volume delivered into the pump bulb to be pumped into the cylinder. The AAI valve is disposed in the pump body and has a seal that is biased to prevent fluid flow from bypassing the pump bulb and flowing from the reservoir to the cylinder.
Abstract:
An implantable fabric includes a bio-inert portion having a first surface and an opposing second surface, with each of the first and second surfaces configured for tissue ingrowth and a bio-absorbable portion attached to the bio-inert portion in a manner that substantially prevents wrinkles on each of the first and second surfaces of the bio-inert portion. And amethod of implanting a fabric into a body to repair a pelvic floor includes preventing wrinkle formation in the fabric with a bio- absorbable support, and implanting the bio-absorbable support and the fabric into the body.
Abstract:
An adhesive patch for the removal or thinning of keratinaceous tissue comprising a backing layer covered on one side by an adhesive layer and an enzyme material comprising salmon zonase. The enzyme material selectively attacks the keratin, but not living cells.
Abstract:
An ostomy device that comprises an adhesive wafer for attaching to the skin around the stoma. The wafer comprises an adhesive layer (2) having a proximal adhesive side and a distal side, where the distal side is covered with a backing layer (1). The wafer comprises a central portion and a peripheral portion, and it comprises a proximal section (5) located on the proximal side of the central portion and a distal section (6) visually arranged on the distal side of peripheral portion, wherein the distal section changes colour when the proximal section is exposed to fluid.
Abstract:
An anatomical augmentation device configured to augment a tubular member of a human body includes an inflatable bladder, a support coupled to the inflatable bladder, and a pump coupleable with the inflatable bladder. The support includes a first connection line and a second connection line that are each attachable to soft tissue to position the inflatable bladder relative to the tubular member of the human body. The device is a body-implantable device and the pump is configured to selectively inflate the inflatable bladder to occlude the tubular member of the human body.
Abstract:
In the following there is disclosed a catheter for voiding a cavity in the human body. The catheter comprises a first tubular catheter part extending longitudinally between a proximal end provided with at least one inlet, and a distal end provided with at least one outlet and a second tubular catheter part extending longitudinally between a proximal end provided with one opening and a distal end provided with a second opening. The catheter further comprises that the first tubular catheter part is longer than the second tubular catheter part; that the second tubular catheter part is arranged on the first tubular catheter at the distal end; and that the first tubular catheter part and the second tubular catheter part are permanently displaceable fixed relative to each other. This provides a catheter which has distal end which is more stable than conventional intermittent catheters and thus is easier to insert with a reduced risk that the catheter bends or kinks during catherisation.
Abstract:
A high aspect ratio surgical anchor comprises a body defined in part along a major longitudinal axis, a fin coupled to the body, and a channel in the body along the longitudinal axis. The channel is configured to receive and removably secure a tip of an introducer there within. A slot is provided through the body that is generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, with the slot being configured to receive and pass implantable material there through and to secure a portion of the implantable material therein.
Abstract:
An assembly (100) for wetting a medical device (101) is provided. The assembly (100) comprises a compartment (120) for the fluid medium and a package (110) for a medical device (101). The fluid medium in the compartment (120) may be used for wetting a hydrophilic coating disposed at an outer surface of the medical device (101. The compartment (120) comprises an outlet (140) and the package (110) comprises an inlet (130) for the fluid medium. Prior to use, when the assembly (100) is in a storage-position, a gap between the outlet (140) and inlet (130) may be present. The outlet (140) and inlet (130) may both be closed by a barrier film (160) preventing contamination of the outlet (140) and inlet (130) prior to use. When the assembly (100) is to be used, the barrier film (160) is removed thereby opening the outlet (140) and inlet (130). The removal of the barrier film (160) may be connected to the opening of the package (110) such that the package (110) is opened as the barrier film (160) is removed. A blocking device (170) for closing the gap between the outlet (140) and inlet (130) at least in the use-position, is provided.
