Abstract:
A high voltage circuit interrupter, having telescopic tubular insulating and conducting casings, contains an expulsion end sealing construction which hermetically seals and controls the expulsion rate of the interrupter. The expulsion end includes a sleeve, a thin, rupturable diaphragm affixed against the sleeve by cyanoacrylate cement, and an end cap. Epoxy cement is applied into the cap so that the space between the diaphragm and the end cap are filled forming a sealant layer therebetween. A main ferrule secures the strain element, and an auxiliary ferrule secures both the main ferrule and the end cap onto the end of the tubular insulating casing.
Abstract:
A helicopter rotor lead-lag hydraulic fluid damper has an internal anti-torque shaft preventing rotary motion of the dynamic fluid retaining seal. An independent fluid reservoir under centrifugal force supplies lubrication to the low pressure side of the seal. At rest, the fluid returns to the lower reservoir chamber by gravity.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions are provided for forming ester based compositions. The ester based compositions may be used in consumer products. In one aspect, a method is provided for producing acyl alkylisethionate esters by the esterification of a sulfonate composition having two or more sulfonate isomers with fatty acid(s). In another aspect, a method is provided for forming an ester based composition including a blend of acyl alkylisethionate and acylisethionate esters.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a surfactant blend that includes an extended chain surfactant and high HLB nonionic surfactant. The surfactant blend may be incorporated into household and industrial-institutional cleaning products to solubilize hard to remove oily stains and soil from a variety of surfaces.
Abstract:
A heat sink is for an integrally fused low-voltage power air circuit breaker including a line terminal and electrical bus work coupled to a current limiter. The line terminal, electrical bus work, and current limiter contribute to the formation of a thermal dam. The heat sink includes a heat exchanger structured to be coupled to the line terminal at or about the current limiter in order to expel heat from the thermal dam. The heat exchanger comprises at least one conductive member having a first end, a second end, and a plurality of bends therebetween. The heat exchanger includes heat reduction features, such as, for example, two conductive members having a number of air gaps therebetween to facilitate heat convection, a dark coating to expel heat, materials having a high thermal conductivity, and surface-enlarging mechanisms such as fins, flanges and apertures.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to lubricating compositions which contain detergent components derived from linear alkylbenzenes including sulfonates and salts and esters thereof. Detergents provided by the invention have a higher content of the 2-phenyl alkylbenzene isomers than was previously available in materials of prior art. The detergents of the present invention are more powerful detergents over those previously available and may be employed as additives in various lubricating compositions, including motor oils, cutting fluids, emulsions, and motor fuels.
Abstract:
A surfactant composition containing: (a) from about 30 to about 70% by weight of an alkyl ether sulfate; (b) from about 0.1 to about 10% by weight of an alkyl polyglycoside of formula I: R1O(R2O)b(Z)a I wherein R1 is a monovalent organic radical having from about 6 to about 30 carbon atoms; R2 is a divalent alkylene radical having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms; Z is a saccharide residue having 5 or 6 carbon atoms; b is a number having a value from 0 to about 12; a is a number having a value from 1 to about 6; and (c) from about 0.1 to about 10% by weight of a salt, all weights being based on the total weight of the composition.
Abstract:
Liquid detergent compositions are described. The liquid detergent can contain defined mixtures of anionic, nonionic and cationic surfactants. The surfactants can be present at concentrations ranging from about at least 15% to about 60%. A useful ingredient in the detergent includes an alkylamine ethoxylate. This ethoxylate should have at least about 5 moles of ethoxylate per mole of the surfactant. Additional ingredients in the detergent include alkylamines and polyalkylene glycols, which facilitate achieving stable, pourable and pumpable liquid detergents that are highly concentrated. Other ingredients may also be included in the liquid detergent.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is disclosed for interacting with a computer reservation system. The invention allows multiple sessions to be established with a computer reservation system simultaneously. When a command is received that requires multiple requests to a computer reservation system, a determination is made whether those requests can be processed simultaneously. If so, two sessions are established with a computer reservation system and a first request is made using one session while a second request is made using the other session. Datasets received in response to the requests are returned to the source of the command.
Abstract:
An apparatus selectively connects a normal power line and an emergency power line to a load, and includes two interlocked switching mechanisms, each having individual interlocks, for selectively connecting the power lines to the load, and an interlock mechanism for interlocking the switching mechanisms in order that only one of the power lines at a time is connected to the load. The switching mechanisms may each have two drawout cassettes including associated switching devices for switching the power lines to the load and, also, including an isolated position for isolation of the associated switching device from at least one of the switched power lines and the load. Each switching device may be a circuit breaker having a trip unit for sensing current flowing from a power line to the load and tripping the circuit breaker. The interlock mechanisms may include keylock mechanisms which selectively disable closing of the switching devices. Each keylock mechanism may have individual locks on associated cassettes and a single key for operating only one of the locks. The individual interlocks of the switching mechanisms may cooperate with the keylock mechanisms to selectively disable connection of a power line to the load. Each key may be retained by an unlocked associated lock and may be removed from a locked associated lock.
