Abstract:
Example systems and methods to wirelessly meter audio/visual (A/V) devices are disclosed. A disclosed example method receives media content from an A/V source device, embeds a video overlay in the wirelessly received media content, and wirelessly transmits the media content and the video overlay to the wireless A/V device. The example method wirelessly receives audience identification information in response to the transmitted video overlay, and wirelessly receives audience behavior information.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to meter content exposure using closed caption information are disclosed. An example method comprises developing a keyword database of terms based on program guide descriptive of programs for a given time period, generating one or more values representative of likelihoods that one or more respective media content was presented based on a comparison of closed caption text and the keyword database, collecting audience measurement data, and employing the one or more likelihood values to identify a set of reference data for comparison to the audience measurement data to identify presented content.
Abstract:
Example methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture meter media content presented on a wireless communication device are disclosed. A disclosed example method receives media content via a wireless communication device. The media content is to be presented via the wireless communication device. First information is generated indicative of a media presentation mode of a media presentation application executed by the wireless communication device to present the media content. Second information is generated indicative of the media content presented via the wireless communication device. The first information is stored in association with the second information in the wireless communication device.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for media source identification and time shifted media consumption measurements are disclosed. A disclosed method identifies a media source by generating first signature information based on media presented via a media delivery device and comprising the first signature information to second signature information. The second signature information is derived from a library of signature information local to the media delivery device. The disclosed method generates a collection of matching signature information based on the comparison of the first and second signature information, and identifies a source of the media presented via the media delivery device based on the collection of matching signature information.
Abstract:
Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to collect metering information associated with media presented by portable and computer media presentation devices are disclosed. A disclosed example method accesses a first data structure including metering information generated by at least one of first media presentation software executed by a personal computer or second media presentation software executed by a portable media presentation device. The metering information is associated with media presented by at least one of the first or second media presentation software. At least some of the metering information is then extracted from the first data structure and stored in a second data structure. The at least some of the metering information is then communicated from the second data structure to a data collection facility.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to monitor audio/visual content from various sources are disclosed. An example method to monitor media content provided by a selected one of a plurality of media content sources for presentation by an information presenting device disclosed herein comprises determining first information based on a video signal corresponding to the monitored media content, determining second information based on an audio signal corresponding to the monitored media content, identifying the selected one of the plurality of media content sources based on a first classification decision resulting from one of the first information and the second information and a second classification decision resulting from the other of the first information and the second information, and identifying the monitored media content based on identification information associated with at least one of the video signal or the audio signal.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to maintain privacy while determining viewing of video-on-demand programs are disclosed. An example method for monitoring a displayed VOD program disclosed herein comprises determining a first set of metering information (320) based on a first set of data collected at a subscriber site (312, 316), determining a second set of metering information (324) based on a second set of data reported by at least one of a VOD server (304) and a head-end, determining a third set of data based on the second set of data, and combining the first and third sets of metering information to credit the displayed VOD program (328).
Abstract:
Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture determine compliance with usage guidelines of an audience measurement system. Initially, location information associated with an audience member is obtained. It is then determined whether the audience member is in compliance with the usage guidelines based on the location information. Media monitoring information corresponding to the location information is then tagged as non-compliant if the audience member is not in compliance with the usage guidelines.
