Abstract:
New findings such as the highlight theory which determine the impression of a face are utilized for the technique of modifying a photographed facial image and the makeup technique. A method according to the present invention includes determining a desirable face desired by a person who is subjected to facial modification or makeup, and performing image processing like shape-merging on an original facial image or an image of a face of the subject person based on the desirable face to thereby prepare images of selectable modified faces.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that makes possible low-cost image pickup of a minute object present on the surface of or inside a light-transmissive substrate.SOLUTION: An image pickup apparatus 100 is provided with a hole 34 functioning as a point light source and an image pickup element 53 in a state in which these elements are positioned on mutually reverse sides of a substrate 60. Light coming out of the hole 34 is magnified L2/L1 times and reaches an image pickup face 53A of the image pickup element 53 to realize enlarged image pickup without using a lens.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for making printed photographs by a digital camera into image data while preventing occurrence of halation. SOLUTION: The instrument for imaging a printed photograph is provided with: a mount 1 on which the printed photograph is placed; a mechanism which fixes a digital camera DC to turn downward just above the printed photograph; a reflection mirror 48B which reflects illuminating light exiting from a flash F of the digital camera DC to two directions; and a diffusion reflection part S which diffuses and reflects the illuminating light reflected to two opposite horizontal directions by the reflection mirror 48B. The illuminating light striking the diffusion reflection part S is diffused and reflected by the diffusion reflection part S and radiated to the printed photograph P at a shallow angle without causing the halation even when imaging the printed photograph P by the digital camera DC by using the illuminating light. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach an HMD to a general article compared with glasses. SOLUTION: The HMD can be attached to a brim of a cap X. The HMD includes: a display part 100 for projecting image light of an image to eyes of a user; a fixation part 300 structured to be fixed to the brim of the cap X; and an arm 200 with its one end connected to the display part 100 and the other end connected to the fixation part 300, respectively. The arm 200 includes a ball joint 230 at an intermediate position in its longitudinal direction. The user can freely adjust the position and angle of the display part 100 of the HMD attached to the cap X. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens configuration, the power of which changes from a plus through zero to a minus, utilizing a liquid crystal lens. SOLUTION: A lens group A includes a liquid crystal lens 100 and a concave lens 150 with a negative power. The liquid crystal lens 100 includes two parallel transparent plates, a transparent electrode laid along the plates and a liquid crystal layer 30 filling the space between the plates. Powder of dielectric is applied to the inside surface of the transparent electrode to have a concentric distribution of concentration so that it becomes thinner as it goes toward the outside. When a potential difference is constant, the positive power of the liquid crystal lens 100 cancels the negative power of the concave lens 150. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily position a small-sized eyeglass-dedicated image display device in use. SOLUTION: An image display device 100 includes: a body 110 which is fixed to a bow 210 of a pair of eyeglasses 200; and an image display part 120 which moves from a waiting position near the body 110 to an operation position adjacent to a lens 220. The operation position of the image display part 120 is predetermined and the move from the waiting position to the operation position of the image display part 120 is made automatically. Thus, the image display part 120 is located in a suitable position. The image display part 120 contains a display 125 and a free curved face prism 126, and when the image display part 120 is in the operation position, an image represented on the display 125 is viewed by a user in an enlarged manner. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an optical article such as a graded index rod lens so as to have a refractive index difference larger than that in the conventional optical article. SOLUTION: The graded index rod lens is made by distributing a refractive index control substance for controlling the refractive index in a transparent resin such as PMMA such that the concentration of the refractive index control substance becomes higher on the center part than on the peripheral part in the radial direction, wherein diallyl oxazol is used as the refractive index control substance. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform switching from a mirror mode to a display mode at the appropriate moment, in a multifunctional image display apparatus which switches over the mirror mode and the display mode. SOLUTION: In the multifunctional image display apparatus 1, a half mirror 40 of 70% of efficiency and 80% of a reflection rate is provided inside a hole 11 provided in a front side of a case 10 and a liquid crystal display device of 750 Cd/m2 of screen luminance is provided inside the half mirror. In a front face of the case 10, human sensor 12 is provided. The human sensor 12 generates a detection signal when detecting a person who enters in front of the sensor. The liquid crystal display apparatus starts moving image display when triggered by generation of the detection signal. Thereby, the multifunctional image display apparatus 1 is switched from the mirror mode to the display mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
