Abstract:
The production of character generators for non-mechanical printers requires the positionally precise soldering of light-emitting diode chips (LEDs) on module plates. The precision required in all three dimensions lies between ± 3 and 10 νm. A new device is composed of an adjusting device (4) and a soldering device separable therefrom that can carry out as a separate unit a soldering operation. A LED-row to be soldered on a module plate is temporarily adjusted and held on an auxiliary carrier (5) and brought during the soldering operation towards the solder-coated surface of the module plate (carrier (6)) in such a way that the components being soldered are joined only after the solder (2) has melted. For that purpose, spring joints which can be blocked in two predetermined positions and also intermediate fusible disks which melt shortly after the solder (2) on the module plate are used, allowing the joining of the components being soldered to be controlled. As a result, mechanical damage to the LED-rows are avoided and a highly precise positioning of the LED-rows and the module plate is obtained.
Abstract:
A holding device for insert cards of an electrical appliance has a module support which forms a frame-like plug-type connection field or operating field. The insert cards are fastened mutually parallely to the module support by means of diaphragms on their edges. Each diaphragm carries at least one plug-in connector and/or one operating or display element arranged in the region of an aperture in the module carrier which is closed by the corresponding diaphragm. At least one aperture (16) is larger than the other apertures (12, 14). The diaphragm (50) provided for this aperture (16) carries, in a section of its aperture (16) which is larger than the other apertures, at least one plug-in connector (54) and/or one operating or display element.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for transporting one or more bundled bank notes from a collecting station (18) to at least one dispensing station (20, 22) of a dispensing device. A transport carriage (32) with a clamping device (34) which can be adjusted between a clamping position and a release position is mounted in a rail installation. The rail installation has a central rail branch (24) the lower end of which ends in the collecting station (18) and forks into a first outer rail branch (28) and a second outer rail branch (30), each of which ends in an associated dispensing station (20, 22). The transport carriage (32) is driven along an endless conveyor chain which runs along the rail branches. Coupling means for selectively coupling the transport carriage (32) with the conveyor chain are provided.
Abstract:
A flat printer (102) is divided in the plane of a print carrier into a lower housing part (104) and a housing cover (106) which can be placed on or removed from the latter. The housing cover (106) is pivotally connected to the lower housing part. In a basic version, the housing cover (106) contains only inactive functional parts, namely an abutment and upper transport rollers, All active functional parts, namely the printing head (114), the driven lower transport rollers (116) with their drives as well as the drive (120) for the inking ribbon cassette (126) are arranged in the lower housing part. The electronic drive and control device is designed as a connection plate (134) on which the functional parts to which it is connected are preferably inserted directly. The inking ribbon cassette (126) is laid flat in the front section of the lower housing part (104), providing at the same time a support surface for the print medium drawn in the feed direction (8). The housing cover (106) can additionally accommodate printing stations (150, 152), each provided with a paper supply and individual paper transport devices. The printer (102) can therefore be upgraded to a cash-till printer which prints receipts, vouchers and a day-book with a single printing head (11). The base of the lower housing part can be removed and replaced by an add-on housing which can additionally contain electronic modules that extend the printer's capabilities. As the base can be removed, these modules can be connected directly with the interior of the connection plate (134).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for adjusting the access arm of a disk operating system, the access arm of which carries at least one transducer which generates a position signal (43) from continuously read positional data. In order to position the transducer on the corresponding track, a servo drive (36) is actuated. The position signal (43) is scanned with a constant scanning frequency (fa) and converted to digital values which are fed to a controller that operates digitally and at a constant operating frequency (fr). Voltage pulses of constant pulse frequency (fp), whose polarity and/or duration (tp) are adjusted in function of the output signal of the controller (48), are fed to a drive coil. The respective ratios of the pulse frequency (fp), the scanning frequency (8a) and the operating frequency (fr) are whole numbers. The process can be used to reduce electric losses in the servo drive (36) and to prevent fluctuations in the control system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement for the mechanical coupling of units, e.g. a printing mechanism (15) of an electrophotographic printing or copying device, with other units (23, 24) in axially parallel alignment with the conveyor path of a recording substrate (12). A basic unit (28), especially one containing the printing mechanism (15), is jointedly coupled via a cross-member (30), especially consisting of two individual cross-member components (301, 302), to a bearer (32) arranged vertically in relation to a device frame (1). In turn, the units (23 or 24) are linked in paired recesses (e.g. C1, C2) axially parallel in relation to the basic unit.
Abstract:
A CD-ROM drive has n selectable speed ranges and within each speed range speeds of rotation which diminish in a linear fashion from the outer to the inner sector, provided that the speed of rotation be automatically reduced in the event of negative reading results. Control means switch the CD-ROM drive to a lower speed range when a predetermined noise level is exceeded and/or vibrations occur.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement for connection of at least one module (M) to a mains supply (SV) in an appliance, wherein connection is provided when mains supply (SV) is turned on, a contact element (KG) located in the appliance outside the module is provided with pre-mating contacts, and said contact element presents a current limitation (AS) device for making current.
Abstract:
Method for the synchronization of concurrent processes wherein each process is assigned a memory word before it starts, said memory word can only be modified by this process but can be read by all other processes involved. This memory word is incremented by two at each synchronization step. Before each increment a process waits until the memory word assigned to it is smaller or equal to the values in the other memory words.
