Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating a model of a laser-engraved surface, the method comprising: transforming a first set of values for a first set of parameters associated with a laser-engraving process to a second set of values for a second set of parameters associated with a laser pulse model; modifying the laser pulse model based on the second set of values to produce a modified laser pulse model; and executing the modified laser pulse model to direct a plurality of laser pulses towards a computer-simulated surface, wherein the plurality of laser pulses modify the computer-simulated surface.

Abstract: Defrosting refrigeration equipment meeting the strict requirements for storage of vaccines provided by the Center for Disease Control, California Vaccine for Children, American Academy of Pediatrics, Vaccines for Children (VFC) and the North Dakota Department of Health among others. Vaccine refrigeration storage must maintain consistent temperatures between −58 degrees Fahrenheit and 5 degrees Fahrenheit. The invention utilizes temperature variation moderating heat reservoirs consisting of high specific or latent heat capacity materials to significantly reduce the cycle temperature variation while maintaining the ability to successfully defrost the freezer.

Abstract: An environmentally controlled chamber system. The system includes an insulated enclosure having an access door and a humidification/dehumidification chamber enclosure arranged and disposed to provide humidification or dehumidification to the insulated enclosure. The system also includes a refrigerant loop having an enclosure evaporator, a dehumidification evaporator, at least one condenser, a variable speed compressor and piping for directing refrigerant from the variable speed compressor to the enclosure evaporator, the dehumidification evaporator, and the at least one condenser. An electrical heating element is arranged and disposed adjacent to the enclosure evaporator to selectively provide heat to at least a portion of the enclosure evaporator. A method for controlling the environmentally controlled chamber system is also disclosed.

Abstract: A quick disconnect pump assembly is disclosed. The pump assembly includes a housing with inlet and outlet ports, an elongate slot, and a retainer channel. A sliding lock moves within the slot between a locked position and an unlocked position. The sliding lock includes inlet and outlet port openings and a sliding lock retainer opening. The inlet and outlet port openings each engage and retain a removable fitting when the sliding lock is in the locked position, but do not engage or retain the removable fitting when the sliding lock is in the unlocked position. The pump assembly also includes a sliding lock retainer which passes through the sliding lock retainer opening to prevent removal of the sliding lock from the elongate slot. A fluid pump and a beverage dispenser utilizing the pump assembly are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of making a pump housing that is net-molded and immediately assumes its final shape and design specification without requiring more than de minimis secondary machining processes. The method utilizes molds and cores configured such that none of the fluid ports of the housing produced using the molds and cores have any intersecting geometry. The net-molded pump housing may also include a cross-tube insert providing flow communication between a fluid inlet port and a pressure relief port.

Abstract: A commercial toaster apparatus having a “quick start” feature that nearly instantly changes from a “stand-by” mode to a “toasting” mode. The “quick start” mode is provided by changing the circuitry of some of the quartz heating elements from a series configuration to a parallel one wherein a higher voltage can be applied for a controlled amount of time to regulate the quartz heaters without adversely affecting the life span of the heating elements. Temperature probes are used to adjust the duty cycle of the apparatus to enable a uniform toast color as the cavity chamber temperature of the toaster changes over time. A sensor is also provided that determines when a last product is placed on the conveyer and the duty cycle has been completed such that the unit will automatically switch to a “stand-by” mode, thus reducing the energy requirements of the toaster.

Abstract: A door switch apparatus for a microwave oven that disables the microwave system while not requiring any separate “fingers” or tongs on the door face to reach into the main body of the oven to activate a switch. Abstract: A method for cooling a product with a refrigeration system is provided. The method includes providing a product within a storage chamber defined by an opening wall surface, a floor surface, a rear wall surface and a ceiling wall surface. The ceiling wall is cooled with cooled air in contact with an opposing surface of an internal baffle. The ceiling wall surface is maintained at a temperature to provide convective heat absorption from the ceiling wall surface in the storage chamber. An enveloping airflow of the cooled air is induced downward along the opening wall surface by discharging the cooled air from the discharge chamber into a discharge area within the storage chamber adjacent the opening wall.
