    Abstract: A backlight assembly includes a light guide plate (LGP) having a stepped portion formed at a corner of the LGP, an optical sheet disposed over the LGP and a receiving container receiving the LGP and the optical sheet. The receiving container includes a bottom plate, first through fourth sidewalls and a first LGP fixing portion. The second sidewall is adjacent to the first sidewall. The third sidewall faces the first sidewall. The fourth sidewall faces the second sidewall. The first through fourth sidewalls are extended upwardly from edge portions of the bottom plate. The first LGP fixing portion is formed at the first sidewall such that the LGP fixing portion corresponds to the stepped portion of the LGP. Therefore, a display device is easily assembled. Furthermore, a defilement that may occur during an assembling process may be reduced to enhance productivity.

    Abstract: A backlight assembly and an LCD apparatus are provided. The LCD apparatus has a light guide plate for guiding a light input through side surfaces and emitting the light through an emitting surface. The light guide plate has at least one fixing recess disposed on at least one side surface of the side surfaces. The light guide plate is received in a receiving container having at least one fixing protrusion corresponding to the fixing recess. Also, the receiving container has at least one engaging hole corresponding to the fixing protrusion and disposed on a sidewall thereof. The fixing protrusion fixes the light guide plate to the receiving container and provides a space on which the engaging hole is formed. Accordingly, it is able to reduce an entire size of the LCD apparatus and the LCD apparatus can be easily assembled.

    Abstract: A close contact type image sensor having an improved structure and manufacturing process utilizes a body having integral reflective surfaces to eliminate assembly steps. The body and reflective surfaces are formed using different plastic materials in a single injection molding process. A material having highly reflective characteristics is used for the reflective surfaces. A light source is aligned with the reflective surface by pins in the sensor body which are inserted into holes in the light source. Alternatively, the light source can be mounted on a printed circuit board which has holes that are aligned with the pins. A self focusing lens is mounted in the body to focus reflected light onto a light detector which is mounted on a printed circuit board. A transparent cover piece is mounted in an opening in the body. Flat spring clips secure the printed circuit board to the body of the sensor.

    Abstract: A DC offset cancellation circuit includes: a control signal generation unit generating i (i is a natural number) number of pulse signals having a pulse width corresponding to a DC offset amount; a current source supplying i number of currents each having a different current ratio; a switching unit determining a current quantity to be supplied to a feedback capacitor by adjusting a turn-on quantity of each of the i number of currents according to the pulse width of each of the i number of pulse signals; and an electric charge quantity regulation unit charging DC offset electric charges corresponding to current supplied from the switching unit through the feedback capacitor and transferring the DC offset electric charges charged in the feedback capacitor to a sampling capacitor through a rotary capacitor, to allow the sampling capacitor to primarily store the DC offset electric charges and then secondarily store electric charges corresponding to an input signal.
