Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and method of verification using resident registration number are provided to protect personal information being issued on online or offline, confirm use of personal information and a party to a transaction and verify that a verifier is the person himself or herself by resident registration number. CONSTITUTION: A verifier inputs personal information including resident registration number to a verification server. The verification server verifies that the verifier is the person himself or herself on the basis of the resident registration number and permits a verification service. A requester for verification transmits resident registration number of the verifier to the verification server so as to confirm identity of the verifier. The verification server fetches a membership table stored in a memory of the server with the resident registration number, decides whether or not the verifier is in the table and transmits result of the decision to the requester. The requester prepares a verification list constructed by items related to verification according to the result and transmits the list to the server. The server confirms the list, prepares a table with the list, stores the table in the memory and informs the verifier of reception of the list. The verifier confirms the list and requests publication of a verification note to the server. The server calls the list, prepares a verification note on the basis of the list and transmits the verification note to the requester.
