Abstract: An apparatus and a method for handling an interrupt disabled period and an apparatus and a method for pinning a page are provided to apply demand paging and interrupt disabling and enabling methods to an RTOS(Real-Time multi-tasking Operating System) based system to reduce memory capacity required to operate the system. An apparatus for handling an interrupt disabled period includes a generator(110), a checking unit(120) and a loading unit(130). The generator generates a list of interrupt disabled periods in which demand paging for executing a predetermined program is generated. The checking unit searches the list to check whether the list includes information corresponding to an interrupt disabling request when the interrupt disabling request is received. The loading unit reads pages required to execute the program from an auxiliary storage unit and loads the pages to a physical memory.

Abstract: A device and a method for demand paging in an embedded system are provided to easily use a demand paging technique in a system using an OS(Operating System) or the OS not supporting demand paging. A non-volatile storage device(300) stores codes and data, which are a target of a demand paging. A physical memory(200) reads information for a requested page from the non-volatile storage device and processes the information. The demand paging manager generates a demand paging memory pool for executing demand paging by receiving the part of the physical memory.
