Abstract: A washing machine is provided to improve bactericidal action toward laundry by effectively electrolyzing washing water. A washing machine comprises a washing tub(111) accommodating washing water, a rotary drum pivotally installed in the inside of washing tub, an electrode plate(121) arranged in the washing tub according to the direction in which the rotary drum is rotated and an electrolysis portion(120) having a filter covering the electrode plate.
