Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and system for managing participants is provided to simultaneously accommodate a great number of participants by dividing a virtual space around a fixed material irregularly arranged in the virtual space, and by allocating a space and a server to the participant according to a distance between the fixed material and the participant. CONSTITUTION: A virtual space is constructed in an upper server. The virtual space is divided(300). The virtual space divided is allocated to each individual server. After that, the virtual space is registered and managed by each individual server(302). It is judged whether there's a command execution end of the server(304). In case that there's the command execution end, a termination is performed. In case that there's a new participant(306), An Euclidean distance between a position of the new participant and a point of the space divided is estimated through the upper server. After that, the new participant is registered in the nearest space(308). In case that the participant moves, position information of the participant is shared through the upper server(310).

Abstract: 본 발명은 다자참여형 가상공간에서 참여자 관리방법에 관한 것으로, 다자참여형 가상공간에서 참여자 관리방법은 3차원 가상공간에서 움직임이 없는 고정물들의 위치인 고정점들을 결정하고, 고정점들을 수직이등분하는 선들을 연결하여 상기 가상공간을 분할하는 제1단계; 제1단계에서 각각의 분할된 가상공간 및 그 가상공간에 속한 참여자들을 관리할 서버들을 상위서버에 등록하는 제2단계; 신규 참여자가 있으면 신규 참여자의 위치와 각 서버가 관리하는 분할공간의 고정점과의 거리를 계산하여 거리가 최소가 되는 분할공간을 관리하는 서버에 신규 참여자를 등록하는 제3단계; 각 서버 및 상기 상위서버를 통해 각 서버에 등록된 참여자들의 정보관리를 수행하는 제4단계; 및 신규 참여자가 있는지를 계속 점검하여 신규 참여자가 있다면 제3단계 내지 제4단계를 반복수행하는 제5단계로 이루어진다.
본 발명에 의하면 3차원 가상공간에 불규칙하게 배치되어 있는 고정물을 중심으로 가상공간을 분할하고, 고정물과 참여자간의 거리에 따라 참여자에게 공간 및 서버를 할당하므로 참여자의 이동시 요구되는 충돌검사 등의 계산량이 줄어들어서 동시에 더 많은 참여자를 수용할 수 있다.
