    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for neutralizing the surface and the inside of concrete effectively in a short time by curing concrete in the air and then in CO2 atmosphere. The neutralized concrete is used for concrete structures of oceanic habitats. CONSTITUTION: The surface and the inside of concrete are neutralized by curing concrete within 5days and then curing the cured, not completely hardened, concrete in CO2 atmosphere for 6-24hrs, wherein the concentration of CO2 is less than 5%. The resultant concrete is neutralized to the depth of 6mm and the pH of liquid eluted from the surface of concrete is 8.5 or less.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing calcium carbonate with a high purity, which is an environmental-friendly method by using waste resources, i.e., a steel making slag and carbon dioxide or CO2-containing exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: crushing steel making slag into a size of 45 micrometers or less and introducing water thereto to adjust the pH to 12 or higher, and separating undissolved powder from the eluted solution by filtration to obtain a calcium-eluted solution having a pH of 12 or higher; and reacting the calcium-eluted solution with CO2 or CO2-containing exhaust gas under a pH of 7 or higher.     Abstract: PURPOSE: A reducing method of sludge discharged from neutralization treatment of phosphoric acid wastewater is provided, which can reutilize the waste from steel work and reduce consumption of hydrated lime and discharge amount of sludge.     Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for preventing the generation of white muddy water of electric furnace slag is provided to prevent white muddy water from being generated by re-oxidizing the electric furnace slag. CONSTITUTION: In preprocessing electric furnace slag to be used as backfill/reclaim material, the slag is molten again at a temperature over 1350°C. After that, air is sprayed to the molten slag to re-oxidize the slag until the FeO content in the slag is up to 0.5%. Therefore, the electric furnace slag is used as backfill/reclaim material and white muddy water is not generated.
