CONSTITUTION: A switchable barrier(40) includes a first substrate(41), a second substrate(42), a first electrode(44), a liquid crystal layer(45) and a second electrode(46). The first substrate and the second substrate in the switchable barrier are faced with each other. The first substrate and the second substrate are implemented with glass or a film. The first substrate forms a first electrode. The second substrate forms a second electrode which is faced with the first electrode. The liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. Liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer are assembled by a voltage difference between the first electrode and the second electrode.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A polymer dispersed liquid crystal display device is provided to simplify a manufacturing process by not using a polarizing plate and an alignment layer. CONSTITUTION: Mixture is injected between ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) electrode substrates(1,2). The mixture includes RM(Reactive Mesogen) of 0.1 to 60 weight %. After UV(UltraViolet) curing, polymer chains(4-1) are formed between the ITO electrode substrates. Liquid crystal is randomly arranged within the polymer chains. A scattering state is initialized by the refractive index mismatching between the polymer chains and the liquid crystal.
