Abstract: PURPOSE: A real time processing device of an HD(High Definition) TV audio coder is provided to process 5.1 channels up to 640Kbps in a 48KHz sampling ratio of an MPEG-2 layer 2 in real time, so as to enable every bit ratio, a sampling ratio, and a channel assembling as well as supporting a dynamic transmission channel switching and a phantom coding of a central channel. CONSTITUTION: 5 slave boards(1) perform a subband analysis and a psychological sound modeling. A master board(2) interfaces with a channel matrixing, bit allocation, quantization, bit packing, and a PC(5). A back plane board(3) connects the slave boards(1) with the master board(2). An interface(4) transmits data transmitted from the master board(2) as bit strings to the PC(5). The PC(5) decodes bit strings transmitted by an MPEG standard decoding program, and confirms a capacity of a coding system. A 6-channel A/D converter(7) converts audio signals outputted from a source(6) as analog types into digital data of 16-bit PCM, and transmits the digital data to the slave boards(1).
