Abstract: A method of decoding an image and a computer readable recording medium are disclosed. A program to execute the method of decoding an image according the present invention, which is recorded in a computer readable recording medium, includes determining a reference picture index for a temporal merging candidate with respect to a current block; inducing the temporal merging candidate from a temporal merging candidate block induced based on the current block; and adding the temporal merging candidate to a merging candidate list with respect to the current block based on a validity of the temporal merging candidate, wherein the reference picture index for the temporal merging candidate is set as a fixed value.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for encoding and decoding an image are disclosed. The method for encoding an image includes the steps of: identifying if a residual signal for a current block exists; and encoding information about existence of the residual signal according to existence of the residual signal for the current block, wherein the information about existence of the residual signal indicates if the residual signal for the current block exists, and the information about existence of the residual signal may be encoded to indicate that the residual signal for the current block exists when at least one transform coefficient level except for 0 is included in the current block.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for inducing motion information by using a depth information value. The present invention includes a method of allowing several blocks to share and use a specific depth information value to decrease a memory bandwidth due to approach of the depth information value when motion information is induced by using the depth information value. Thus, the present invention can reduce the memory bandwidth of coding and decoding in a video coding process.
