Abstract:
A dimension table is populated with data records extracted from at least one source system with each data record being associated with identifying hash values and attribute hash values. Once the dimension table is established, a set of hash values is computed for an incoming set of data records. The incoming set of hash values may include at least one identifying hash value and at least one attribute hash value for each data record contained in the incoming set of data records. The method then searches the established dimension table for records having an identifying hash value identical with the identifying hash value of the incoming set of data records. Once a match is found, the method compares the attribute hash values of the records having the identical identifying hash values. If the attribute hash values are different, the method updates the dimension table with the incoming data record.
Abstract:
A method for resolving merged contacts detected by a multi-touch sensor includes resolving a first touch contact to a first centroid(N) for a frame(N) and resolving a second touch contact, distinct from the first touch contact, to a second centroid(N) for the frame(N). Responsive to the first touch contact and the second touch contact merging into a merged touch contact in a frame(N+1), the merged touch contact is resolved to a first centroid(N+1) and a second centroid(N+1).
Abstract:
A system described herein provides six degrees of freedom with respect to a three-dimensional object rendered on a multi-touch display through utilization of three touch points. Multiple axes of rotation are established based at least in part upon location of a first touch point and a second touch point on a multi-touch display. Movement of a third touch point controls appearance of rotation of the three-dimensional object about two axes, and rotational movement of the first touch point relative to the second touch point controls appearance of rotation of the three-dimensional object about a third axis.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed toward a system and process that controls a group of networked electronic components using a multimodal integration scheme in which inputs from a speech recognition subsystem, gesture recognition subsystem employing a wireless pointing device and pointing analysis subsystem also employing the pointing device, are combined to determine what component a user wants to control and what control action is desired. In this multimodal integration scheme, the desired action concerning an electronic component is decomposed into a command and a referent pair. The referent can be identified using the pointing device to identify the component by pointing at the component or an object associated with it, by using speech recognition, or both. The command may be specified by pressing a button on the pointing device, by a gesture performed with the pointing device, by a speech recognition event, or by any combination of these inputs.

Abstract:
A joint assembly is provided which includes a drive assembly and a swivel mechanism. The drive assembly features a motor operatively associated with a plurality of drive shafts for driving auxiliary elements, and a plurality of swivel shafts for pivoting the drive assembly. The swivel mechanism engages the swivel shafts and has a fixable element that may be attached to a foundation. The swivel mechanism is adapted to cooperate with the swivel shafts to pivot the drive assembly with at least two degrees of freedom relative to the foundation. The joint assembly allows for all components to remain encased in a tight, compact, and sealed package, making it ideal for space, exploratory, and commercial applications.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide for broadcast pause and resume for enhanced television. In some embodiments, software key frames identifying a state of a browser at a plurality of points in time may be used for synchronizing a series of graphics to a video stream. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract:
Alphanumeric input is achieved using a handset having a limited number of controls but at least two controls—a first control and a second control. A key layout is rendered on a display. The key layout includes two parts—a first part and a second part. One of the two controls of the handset is associated with one of the two parts of the key layout such that characters within that part are selected with the one control. Likewise, the other of the two controls is associated with the other of the two parts of the key layout such that characters within the other part are selected with the other control.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for repelling insects are disclosed. The methods and devices provide personal protection from insect bites and insect landings, particularly mosquito bites. The methods and devices employ insect repellents such as pyrethroids at low (parts per billion) levels. The methods and devices effectively minimize the number of mosquitoes landing on a subject properly using the devices.
