Abstract:
Process for the preparation of ethylene polymers having narrow MWD characterized by a F/E ratio lower than 35 carried out in the presence of a catalyst system comprising (a) a solid catalyst component comprising Ti atoms that are substantially in the +4 oxidation state, Mg, Cl, and optionally OR groups and internal donors in which R is a C1-C20 hydrocarbon group, in which the OR/Ti molar ratio is equal to or lower than 0.35 and the internal donor/ Ti ratio is lower than 1, (b) an aluminum alkyl compound and (c) a compound selected from alkoxybenzenes of specified formula.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of 1-butene homopolymers or 1-butene/alpha olefin copolymers wherein the alpha olefins are selected from ethylene, propylene or alpha olefins of formula CH 2 =CHZ wherein Z is a C 3 -C 20 alkyl radical, comprising contacting 1-butene or 1-butene and one or more alpha olefins under polymerization conditions in the presence of a catalyst system comprising: (a) a solid component comprising a Ti compound and an internal electron-donor compound supported on MgCl 2 (b) an alkylaluminum cocatalyst; and (c) a compound of formula (I) as external donor wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 and R 5 hydrogen atoms or C 1 -C 20 hydrocarbon radicals, or two R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 can be joined to form a C 5 -C 20 , saturated or unsaturated, ring.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to MgCl2.(EtOH),m(ROH)n(H20)p adduct in which R is a Cl-C15 hydrocarbon group different from ethyl, n and m are indexes, higher than 0, satisfying the equations (n+m) ≥.7 and 0.05 ≤n/(n+m) ≤0.95 and p is a number ranging from 0 to 0.7 with the proviso that when R is methyl and (n+m) is in the range of 0.7 to 1, the value of n/(n+m) ranges from 0.05 to 0.45. The catalyst components obtained from the adducts of the present invention are capable to give catalysts for the polymerization of olefins characterized by enhanced activity with respect to the catalysts prepared from the adducts of the prior art.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solid catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins CH2=CHR in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical with 1-12 carbon atoms, comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and an electron donor selected from maleates of a particular formula. Said catalyst components when used in the polymerization of olefins, and in particular of propylene, are capable to give polymers in high yields and with high isotactic index expressed in terms of high xylene insolubility.
