[Also in Division C2] A herbicidal composition comprises a compound of the formula: wherein R 1 denotes a phenyl or cycloalkyl radical which may be substituted by alkyl, halogen or the trifluoromethyl radical, X denotes chlorine or bromine, R 2 denotes alkyl and R 3 denotes alkyl, alkoxy or alkynyl or each of R 2 and R 3 denotes hydrogen, or, in the event that X denotes bromine; R 2 in addition denotes hydrogen and R 3 in addition denotes a phenyl or chlorophenyl radical. The above compounds may be mixed with a solid or liquid carrier and used in the form of solutions, emulsions;suspensions or dusts: conventional additives may also be present.

[Also in Division C2] A herbicidal composition contains as active ingredient a pyridazone derivative of the formula I:- in which X denotes iodine or fluorine, R' denotes a phenyl or cycloalkyl radical which may be substituted by halogen, or by trifluoromethyl or alkyl and R 2 denotes an -SCH 3 -, -OOC-CH 3 - or -OCH 3 -group or the group in which R 3 denotes an amino radical or α- hydroxy-#,#,#-trichloroethyl radical or the radical -COR 5 or and R 4 denotes hydrogen or the radical - COR 5 and R 5 denotes hydrogen or an alkyl radical which may be substituted by halogen, and R 3 also denotes the group -CO-COOH or - CO-CH=CH-COOH or -CO-CH 2 -CH 2 -COOH or the salts of these acids or the group II or in which R 6 denotes a phenyl radical which may be substituted by halogen, in particular by chlorine, or an alkyl, alkoxy or alkynyl radical and R 7 denotes hydrogen or alkyl, and R 3 and R 4 together denote the group -CO-CH 2 -CH 2 -CO- or or or or =C=O or =S=O or =N=N.
