    Abstract: 1329491 Urea derivatives BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 21209/71 Heading C2C Trisubstituted urea derivatives of the general formula in which R 1 denotes alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl which may be substituted by F, Cl, Br, I, trifluoromethyl, alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, alkylthio, thiocyano, cyano, methylsulphonyl or nitro, R 2 denotes hydrogen, lower alkyl or cycloalkyl, and R 3 denotes a carboxy group, the salt of a carboxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl or aryloxycarbonyl group, or the group R 4 and R 5 denoting hydrogen or an aliphatic radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, are prepared by reacting an optionally N-substituted 3-amino propionic acid or derivative thereof with an appropriate isocyanate. Compounds claimed per se: N - phenyl - N 1 - methyl - N 1 - (2 - carboxyethyl) - urea, N - (3,4 - dichlorophenyl) - N 1 - methyl - N 1 - (2 - carboxyethyl) - urea, N - (3- trifluoromethyl - phenyl) - N 1 - methyl - N 1 - (2- carboxyethyl)-urea. The compounds have herbicidal properties.

    Abstract: 1378322 Substituted chlorocarbonylureas BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 28 March 1972 [29 March 1971] 14439/72 Heading C2C Substituted chlorocarbonylureas of the general formula in which R 1 is C 1 to C 4 alkyl or methoxyalkyl of not more than 5 carbon atoms and R 2 is a radical of the formula in which R 3 is hydrogen, halogen, dialkyl, C 1-5 alkoxy, C 1-5 alkylthio, haloalkyl of not more than 5 C atoms, methylsulphamoyl cyano, N,N- dimethylamidosulphamoyl, 4 1 -chlorophenoxy or hydroxy, and R 4 independently having any one of the meanings listed above for R 3 , or R 3 alternatively denoting substituted carbamoyloxy of the formula R 5 being linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl having a maximum of 9 carbon atoms and optionally substituted by chlorine, bromine, phenyl, cyclohexyl, -S-cyclohexyl, norbornyl, lower alkoxy or alkylthio are prepared by reacting a urea derivative of the formula with phosgene in an organic solvent. Many examples are given. The compounds have herbicidal properties.
