    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a fixed quantity of ink be supplied to an ink-jet recording device when the ink container is fitted to the recording device by keeping the inside of the flexible ink container of closed-up structure at the prescribed pressure. CONSTITUTION:A subtank 2 is provided between an ink-jet head and the ink container. In a bag-shaped container 9' housed in an ink cassette 7 is filled up the ink in a quantity of about 70-80% of the capacity of the container beforehand, and the inside pressure thereof is kept to be positive. Accordingly, when the ink cassette 7 is connected with a feeding channel 6 by a connecting part 8, the ink in the container 9' is fed, in a prescribed quantity, to the subtank 2, since the pressure inside the bag-shaped container 9' is maintained to be positive.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate exchange of recording liquid by a method wherein a recording head and a carriage are made integral to minimize the capacity of a recording liquid vessel and the vessel is enabled to be attached to and detached from the carriage easily. CONSTITUTION:A recording liquid vessel accommodating part 31E is formed with a bottom wall 31D, extending from the bottom part of a carriage main frame 31A to the aft of the carriage, a rearwardly extending part 31B' of an upper wall 31B and a bulkhead 31C. A recording head 33 is secured to the upper surface of the carriage main frame 31A. One end of a feeding tube 34 for feeding the recording liquid to the recording head 33 is connected to the end part of the recording head 33. This feeding tube 34 is introduced from the upper surface of the carriage main frame 31A downwardly along a back surface of the same. The other opening part of the feeding tube 34 is attached to a lower part of a side wall of the recording liquid vessel 35 through a blank plug 36 of an elastic material.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To control an amount of recording liquid supplied from a main tank to a sub tank properly by a method wherein the sub tank and the main tank are communicated simultaneously with a beginning of printing by a recording head and are shut off when a predetermined time is elapsed after finishing of the printing. CONSTITUTION:A head/tank part 1, in which the recording head 2 and the sub tank 3 provided with a ventilating hole 12 on an upper surface thereof are integrated, is mounted on a carriage 4 while a recording liquid introducing port 6 of the tank 3 and a recording liquid outlet port 11 of a main tank 10 provided with a ventilating hole 13 on an upper surface thereof are connected by a flexible feed passage 7 interposed with an on-off valve 20. A print commanding signal S1 from a signal generating circuit FS and an output signal S2 from a delay signal generating circuit DT are supplied to an OR circuit OR and this OR output is supplied, after it is amplified by an amplifier AP, to a solenoid SOL to operate it. When the solenoid SOL is excited, the valve 20 is opened. When a predetermined time is elapsed after finishing of the printing, the solenoid SOL is demagnetized and the valve 20 is closed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a recording device compact by a method wherein a main tank for feeding ink to a subtank on a carriage is made to a flat and thin container and is arranged beneath a printer unit. CONSTITUTION:The main tank 75 made to be a flat container is arranged beneath a base 71 provided with a carriage 64 bearing a recording head 62 and a subtank 63, a platen 65, paper 68 for recording, etc. The main tank 75 is preferably formed of a thin case body 74 wherein a flat baglike container 73 (the one formed of a flexible polymeric film coated with a thin metallic film is suited) is fitted removably. The main tank 75 thus formed is connected with the subtank 63 by means of a flexible pipe 79. Then, when the carriage 64 moves to the right and left, the centrifugal force acts on the ink inside the flexible pipe 79. By this, the ink in the main tank 75 is fed into the subtank 63.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the ink-jet recording device compact by arranging a main tank for feeding ink in a vacant space between a platen and a rolled-paper charging part. CONSTITUTION:The main tank 71 is arranged between the platen 65 and the rolled-paper charging part 66 and below paper to be printed. A flexible feeding passage 73 is joined to a recording-liquid feeding port 72 provided in the lateral wall in the lower part of the main tank 71 and is connected to a subtank 63 provided unitedly with a recording head 62 on a carriage 64. When the carriage 64 moves to the right and left according to printing operation, the feeding passage 73 connected to the subtank 63 conducts circular-arc-like motions along with the move of the subtank 63, while the centrifugal force acts on the recording liquid in the passage 73. By this, the recording liquid is fed from the main tank 71 to the subtank 63.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device having a simple structure, a stable printability and reliability by a method wherein a recording head part and a liquid reservoir part are combined into a unitary body and a heating part is located at such a height that liquid in the liquid reservoir part can be supplied by a capillary force to the heating part. CONSTITUTION:The vertical distance L between an orifice at the highest location of a liquid discharge part 509 and a liquid inlet 517 at the terminal of a supply tube 511 is not allowed to exceed 120mm. (when the tube 511 is 0.3-2.0mm. in an inner diameter and the recording liquid has a surface tension of 40-60dyn/cm) in order that the liquid in a liquid reservoir part 502 is supplied smoothly and speedily only by a capillary force to each heating portion of the liquid discharge part 509 and a common liquid chamber part 510. A recording head 501 and the liquid reservoir part 502 are manufactured in a unitary body and are mounted on a carriage 503. Even when this device 500 is turned over or inclined, the liquid does not leak from a discharge orifice 507 or a meniscus will not fail to return or to be restored to the original state.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled device which leaks no recording liquid from a tank and/or a recording head even when the device is inclined or oscillated by a method wherein both a supplying passage of the tank to the recording head and an air passage connecting the inner part of the tank with the atmosphere are shut simultaneously when printing is not made. CONSTITUTION:The supplying passage 4 made from an elastic material is connected with the supplying port 3 of the tank 1, the air passage 9 made from an elastic material is provided on an air port 5 and the front end 9A of the air passage is opened. Both passages 4, 9 can be pressed simultaneously by a solenoid bar 12 of a solenoid 11 on a base 10 through a spring 13. When printing is not needed, the solenoid 11 is demagnetized and the supplying passage 4 and the air passage 9 are pressed by the solenoid bar 12 simultaneously and shut respectively.

CONSTITUTION:An ink ejection unit 1 comprises a first passage 7 which extends with a length l from the front of an orifice 5 to a dotted line X''Y'' and whose longitudinal section linearly increases at an opening angle alpha from the front of the orifice toward a pressure chamber 2, and a second passage 8 which extends from the dotted line X''Y'' to another XY and whose longitudinal section has a part with the maximum opening angle beta on the side of the orifice 5 and smoothly increases toward the pressure chamber 2. The ink ejection unit 1 is provided on the front of a head. The pressure chamber 2 extends from the dotted line XY extending through an inflection point 6. The pressure chamber has an almost constant inside diameter d and is coupled with an ink feed unit. The length l is set at 0.1-0.7 time of the inside diameter d on the connection point of the pressure chamber 2 with the ink ejection unit, namely, on the dotted line XY. The opening angle alpha is set at 20 deg. or less. The maximum opening angle beta is set at 60-150 deg..

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve discharge efficiency as well as stability of ink drop by preventing from entering dust and air, by integrally forming a head and a tank and by providing a ventilating means in order to equalize the pressure in the tank to the atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head is accommodated in a head accommodation section 2 of a box 1. A supply tube 5 is connected to the end of a glass nozzle 4 in the head, while the other end of the supply tube 5 passes through a bulkhead 6 between the head accommodation section 2 and an ink reservoir 3, and extends as far as the bottom of the reservoir 3. Next, the supply tube 5 is airtightly sealed to the bulkhead 6. Then, an air hole 8 is made to the bulkhead 6 between the reservoir 3 and head accommodation section 2 in order to equalize the pressure in the reservoir 3 to the atmospheric pressure. A diameter of the hole 8 of 10mm or less is recommended.
