PREPARATION:For example, an aliphatic acid shown by the formula III is reacted with diethylenetriamine to give amidoamine, which is dehydrated and subjected to ring formation to give an amidoimidazoline, which is reacted with a quaternizing agent, to give a compound shown by the formula I wherein X is CH3SO 4.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain the shape and touch feeling essential to clothes by applying a finishing agent composition for the clothes containing a specific water-soluble polymeric substance and a softening treating agent to the clothes after washing at home. SOLUTION: This finishing agent composition for clothes is prepared by compounding 0.1-50wt.% water-soluble polymeric substance having 10,000-6,000,000 weight-average molecular weight such as a modified starch (derivative), a cellulose derivative or a saponified polyvinyl acetate (derivative) with 0.05-30wt.% softening treating agent such as a water-insoluble uncurable silicone. The dipping treatment of the clothes washed in a domestic washing machine such as a cotton board cloth is carried out in a bath at 0.1% of concentration of the above composition and (1/3) to (1/100) bath ratio and the resultant clothes are then dried to afford a treated product having 0.05-1.0gfcm /cm rigidity value in bending deformation of the cloth which is higher than that of the untreated cloth and 0-10.0g/cm hysteresis width value in shearing deformation that is lower than that of the untreated cloth.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject sizing agent composition, excellent in tensile performances and capable of reducing a phenomenon of a ring fouling (a darkened ring-shaped fouling) by blending a specific water-soluble polymer with a water-soluble inorganic salt in a specified weight proportion. CONSTITUTION:This spray type sizing agent composition is obtained by blending (A) 0.1-20wt.% water-soluble polymer selected from a modified starch (e.g. hydroxyethylated starch), a cellulosic derivative (CMC, etc.), a saponified polyvinyl acetate, a polymer prepared by polymerizing a vinylic monomer containing sulfonic acid group and a salt thereof, etc., a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing the two or more vinylic monomers and a salt thereof, a polymer prepared by sulfonating a polymer obtained by (co)polymerizing one or more polymerizable aromatic monomers and a salt thereof, a homopolymer, etc., of N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone with (B) 0.1-10wt.% water-soluble inorganic salt (e.g. an inorganic salt, selected from a sulfate, sodium chloride, etc., and having >=10wt.% solubility in water at 25 deg.C) and water and has performances essential to the sizing agent. The resultant sizing agent composition is capable of suppressing especially a phenomenon of ring fouling.
