Abstract: 1,243,713. Recovering rubber from solution. KAO SOAP CO. Ltd. 29 Jan., 1969, No. 4923/69. Heading C3P. A solution of a synthetic rubber in an organic solvent is poured into heated water containing a mixture of a bi- or trivalent water-soluble inorganic metallic salt and a sulphonate of a C 15-24 monoalkyl benzene or a formaldehyde condensate of said sulphonate, said inorganic salt and said sulphonate forming a substantially water-insoluble compound, steam stripping the solvent and recovering the rubber as fine particles in an aqueous slurry.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the fuel which can be handled as a common liquid fuel by adding water, a specified nonionic surfactant and a hydrophilic polymeric substance of natural origin to super-heavy oil to form an O/W emulsion. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. super-heavy oil, 30-80 pts.wt. water, 0.054 pts.wt. nonionic surfactant of an HLB of 14-19 such as polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether and 0.003-1 pt.wt. hydrophilic polymeric substance of natural origin such as sodium alginate, guar gum, gum arabic, casein ammonium salt or carboxymethylcellulose are mixed with each other, heated to 60 deg.C or above and agitated with, e.g. a line mixer to obtain the title fuel. When 0.005-4 pts.wt., per 100 pts.wt. super-heavy oil, anionic surfactant such as sodium ligno-sulfonate or sodium naphthalenesulfonate/formalin condensate is added to the fuel, the storage stability of the emulsion can be further improved.

CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. super-heavy oil, 30-80 pts.wt. water, and a combination of 0.01-4 pts.wt. anionic surfactant such as sodium lig nosulfonate or a sodium naphthalenesulfonate/formalin condensate with a nonionic surfactant of an HLB of 14-19 such as polyoxyethylenesorbitan laurate in an anionic surfactant to nonionic surfactant ratio of 10/90 to 40/60 by weight are heated to 60 deg.C or above and agitated with, e.g. a line mixer to obtain a lowly viscous O/W emulsified super-heavy fuel. When 0.01-0.5 pt.wt. second nonionic surfactant of an HLB of 1.5-14 is added to 100 pts.wt. obtained emulsified fuel, the long-term stability of the emulsion can be further improved.
