Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided that may include an orbiting scroll having an orbiting wrap, and which performs an orbiting motion; and a fixed scroll having a fixed wrap to form a compression chamber including a suction chamber, an intermediate pressure chamber, and a discharge chamber, by being engaged with the orbiting wrap. In a state in which the orbiting scroll and the fixed scroll are concentric with each other, when a distance between the orbiting wrap and the fixed wrap is defined as an orbiting radius, there exists an offset section having an interval larger than the orbiting radius, between a side surface of the orbiting wrap and a side surface of the fixed wrap which faces the orbiting wrap. With such a configuration, even if the fixed scroll or the orbiting scroll is transformed due to thermal expansion, interference between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap at a portion having a large transformation amount may be prevented. This may prevent a frictional loss or abrasion between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap. Further, this may restrict or minimize a gap between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap at an opposite side to the suction chamber, resulting in enhanced compression efficiency.

In a state in which a center of the fixed scroll and a center of the orbiting scroll are substantially the same, an interval between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap gradually increases towards the suction chamber from the discharge chamber.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a scroll compressor including a casing, a drive motor arranged in the casing, a shaft coupled to the drive motor, a main frame arranged under the drive motor, a fixed scroll arranged under the main frame, an orbiting scroll arranged between the main frame and the fixed scroll and engaged with the fixed scroll to form a compression chamber with the shaft eccentrically coupled to the orbiting scroll, a discharge cover coupled to the fixed scroll to form a closed space, a discharge port formed in the fixed scroll to connect the compression chamber and the closed space, and a discharge hole passing through the main frame and the fixed scroll, wherein an inlet and an inner portion of the discharge hole have different cross-sectional areas. The scroll compressor can reduce the noise caused by movement of the refrigerant by improving the structure of the discharge holes.

The oil-separator includes a centrifugal separator configured to rotate together with the rotation shaft and configured to generate a centrifugal force to separate the oil from the refrigerant, and a coupler coupled to the rotor or the rotation shaft and configured to rotate the centrifugal separator based on rotation of the rotating shaft.

A volume of a discharge space defined in the space by the first scroll may be 4.5 or more, obtained by dividing a volume of the discharge space by a total volume of an initial compression chamber among the compression chambers.
