A method for controlling a portable device is provided. The method includes detecting bending of the portable device and determining whether to perform motion sensing correction due to the bending; acquiring a motion sensing correction factor for performing the motion sensing correction due to the bending; performing motion sensing correction of at least one motion sensor using the motion sensing correction factor; and controlling the portable device according to the corrected motion sensing.

A flexible glass display apparatus and a method for displaying image data in the apparatus are provided. The flexible glass display apparatus includes: a flexible glass display unit that displays image data portions; a sensing unit that detects bending of the display unit; another sensing unit that detects first and second areas which are brought into contact with each other due to bending of the display unit; and a controller, upon detection of contact between the first and second areas, controls at least one image data portion displayed in the first and second areas based on the contact, wherein an image data portion displayed in any one of the first and second areas is distinguishable in the other area.

A head mount display (HMD) device according to one embodiment comprises a camera unit configured to capture an image at a front of the HMD device, a distance obtaining unit configured to obtain a distance between the HMD device and an object in the front of the HMD device, a communication unit configured to transmit and receive data, a display unit configured to display visual information, and a processor configured to control the camera unit, the distance obtaining unit, the communication unit and the display unit, wherein the processor is further configured : to recognize a face from the image, to receive personal data corresponding to the recognized face, to obtain, from the received personal data, personal information and period from a latest date when the face was lastly recognized to a current date when the face is currently recognized, to display the personal information when the period is longer than a first threshold period, and control a quantity of the personal information to be displayed based on a distance between the recognized face and the HMD device, and the period, and not to display the personal information when the period is shorter than the first threshold period.

According to one embodiment disclosed for this, the device includes a flexible display, if the flexible display expands (roll-out), a length measuring unit configured to measure an expanded length of the flexible display expanded from the device, a speed measuring unit configured to measure a speed of which the flexible display expanded from the device and a processor configured to control the flexible display, the length measuring unit, and the speed measuring unit, wherein if the flexible display expanded to a unit length, the processor displaying an application execution screen corresponding to the unit length in the flexible display and wherein if the flexible display expanded more than the unit length, the processor controlling a display of the application execution screen displayed in the flexible display or the display of the application execution screen corresponding to a next unit length of the unit length according to an expansion speed of the flexible display. The present specification relates to a foldable display device and a method of controlling therefor, and more particularly, to a method of configuring illuminance of a display screen according to an illuminance value detected based on a folding angle between a first body and a second body of the foldable display device. According to one embodiment, a foldable display device includes a first body configured to support a first display screen, a second body configured to support a second display screen wherein the first display screen and the second display screen are provided at a first side of the foldable display device, an angle sensing unit configured to sense a folding angle between the first body and the second body wherein the first body and the second body are foldable in a direction to which the first display screen and the second display screen are facing, a first illuminance sensing unit provided in the first side configured to sense illuminance, a second illuminance sensing unit provided in the second side, which is an opposite side of the first side, configured to sense illuminance, and a processor configured to control the first body, the second body, the angle sensing unit, the first illuminance sensing unit, and the second illuminance sensing unit, wherein the processor is further configured to: set illuminance of at least one of the first display screen and the second display screen provided at the first side, based on a first illuminance value detected by the first illuminance sensing unit of the first side, when the folding angle between the first body and the second body is equal to an illuminance threshold angle or greater than the illuminance threshold angle, set the illuminance of at least one of the first display screen and the second display screen, which are provided at the first side, based on a second illuminance value detected by the second illuminance sensing unit of the second side, when the folding angle between the first body and the second body is smaller than the illuminance threshold angle.
