Abstract: A hand vacuum cleaner has a main body comprising a suction motor, a front end, a rear end and a handle, the suction motor having a suction motor inlet end that faces the front end of the main body. A cyclone unit is positioned in the air flow passage upstream from the suction motor, the cyclone unit is removably mounted to the front end of the main body wherein the first cyclonic stage faces towards the suction motor inlet end. In another embodiment, the handle is provided on the top of the main body with a grip portion provided between a lower surface of the handle and an upper surface of the main body, the handle extending in the forward/rearward direction and having a front end, a rear end and a handle length that is greater than a length of the suction motor in the forward/rearward direction.

Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus such as an extractor has a liquid delivery system comprising at least one spray nozzle that delivers at least one liquid and an inverted cyclone comprising, when the surface cleaning apparatus is in a floor cleaning orientation, a lower end, a lower end wall, an upper end and an upper end wall, the lower end having a cyclone fluid inlet and a cyclone air outlet and the upper end has a separated element outlet, wherein the cyclone air outlet comprises a treated air outlet conduit and a liquid blocking collar is provided on an outer surface of the treated air outlet conduit below an inlet to the treated fluid outlet conduit. A solid and liquid collection chamber is in communication with the separated element outlet.

Abstract: An arrangement of multiple environmental control systems for a multi-unit structure has a first environmental control system installed in a first unit, a second environmental control system installed in a second unit, a system monitor in communication with each of the environmental control systems and a firewall. Each environmental control system has a control unit coupled to the system monitor through the firewall that prevents unauthorized devices from accessing the respective control unit and a HVAC system device coupled to the respective control unit through the firewall. For each unit, a local user device that is located inside the unit is coupled to the control unit through a local communication interface, and an external user device that is located outside the unit communicates with the control unit through the firewall.
