Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality and yield of a PDP by correcting trouble such as non-lighting in lighting a panel.
SOLUTION: This method is used for manufacturing a plasma display panel including: a pair of front-side and back-side substrates arranged oppositely to each other to form discharge spaces partitioned by barrier rib between the substrates; a plurality of display electrodes formed by being arranged on the front-side substrate to form discharge cells among the barrier ribs; a dielectric layer formed on the front-side substrate to cover the display electrodes; and a phosphor layer emitting light by discharge among electrodes formed on the back-side substrate, a base dielectric layer, the barrier ribs and the display electrodes. The manufacturing method is characterized by including a process of applying vibration to the panel by ultrasonic waves or shock waves in a process of lighting and inspecting the panel after sticking the front-side substrate to the back-side substrate.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a PDP of a display image of a high quality having less brightness unevenness and color unevenness formed in a screen when observed at a high viewing angle in a high-definition plasma display panel.
SOLUTION: This is the PDP in which a plurality of display electrode pairs formed on a front substrate, a front plate equipped with a dielectric layer to cover these, and a rear plate equipped with a barrier rib and a phosphor layer to partition a discharge space on the rear substrate are oppositely arranged. In a structure that a barrier rib pitch (L1) of the rear plate is formed at 160 μm or less, opening width (L2=L1-W) in which barrier rib apex width (W) is excluded from the barrier rib pitch satisfies a relationship of (L2/H>1.25) between the barrier rib height (H).
