Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate die exchange work by automatically carrying out connection of an electric system, and air system, etc., when dies are set on the press. CONSTITUTION:This press is used by fitting the dies by a free shank system. The dies 10 are slid on a press bed 26 and pressed in up to the specified position, the press and a lower die of the dies are subjected to rugged fitting and in-plane positioning is performed. A die holder 18 is fixed by clampers 30 at the pressed-in position and a shank 24 is engaged with a shank holder 22. The connection of the electric system, etc., between the press and the lower die is carried out by providing a connection to come into contact with a connection provided on the side of the lower die on the press and the connection of the electric system, etc., between the press and an upper die is carried out by pressing a connecting plate 73 provided on the connection at the press side against connecting blocks 82 provided on the upper die.

After all the lead frames 6 in the magazine 5 which have been fed into the lead frame feed part 2 are held together in the feed stocker, the empty magazine 5 is transferred to the lead frame discharging part, and the lead frame 6 discharged from the lead frame processing part is stored in the empty magazine 5 which has been transferred.

Further, 1st optical fiber 42a, 42b being connected to the sensor main body part and a 2nd optical fiber 44a, 44b being connected to the light projecting/ receiving body part 40 are connected without contacting, both fibers can be connected in a short time.
