    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the interface of a first metal magnetic film from acting as pseudo gap by forming said film so that at least such part of the abutted surfaces of a non-magnetic substrate as adjacent to the magnetic gap comes non-parallel with the magnetic gap plane. CONSTITUTION:The metal magnetic films 8, 9 are so formed that the non- parallel part of the abutting surfaces of the non-magnetic substrates 6, 7 come flat, and on top of the flat metal magnetic film, metal magnetic films 10, 11 are formed. As a result, the pseudo gap between this non-magnetic substrate and the metal magnetic film formed on the face-to-face surface can be prevented from occurring, the electromagnetic conversion characteristic and the reproduction output characteristic can be improved, further, the productivity of the magnetic head can be also improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a pseudo gap by making a core thickness on a recording medium sliding surface approximately equal to a track width and extending a magnetic thin metallic film up to the side surface part of a head core part at least near a magnetic gap. CONSTITUTION:For head core parts 9 and 10, track width regulating grooves 12a and 12b are formed so that a core thickness on a recording medium sliding surface 11 can be the same width as a track width W and a magnetic thin metallic film 14 is extended up to side surface parts 9a and 9b of track width regulating grooves 12a and 12b of the core part 9 near a magnetic gap 8. Consequently, the interface edge part of the head core part 9 and the film 14 is not directly brought into contact with a glass 16. Consequently, both edge parts K1 and K2 of an interface K of a magnetic gap part 14a and the head core part 9 which are filmed in parallel to the magnetic gap 8 are covered with side surface films 14b and 14c of the magnetic metallic film and not brought into contact with the glass 16. Thus, the component of the glass 16 is not permeated to the interface K, a response layer is not formed and the pseudo gap generation is prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent formation of a false gap to improve the quality of recording and reproduced signals by forming a metallic magnetic film which only a metallic magnetic material continuously from a front gap to a winding groove and forming a laminated film through insulating films in parts other than the front gap part. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a magnetic head where a pair of magnetic core half bodies consisting of substrates 12 and 13 and a metallic magnetic film 14 are butted, the metallic magnetic film 14 is formed continuously from a front gap 11 to at least winding grooves 16 and 17, and parts other than the front gap part 11 consist of only the metallic magnetic material, and a laminated film is formed through insulating films n1-n8 in parts other than the front gap part 11. Consequently, a false gap which interferes with the magnetic flux essentially generated in the front gap 11 is not formed. Thus, the frequency characteristic is not waved to improve the quality of recording and reproduced signals, and a high permeability is obtained to not only increase the output but also raise the band.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lessen distortion of a magnetic metallic film that covers a substrate due to difference of coefficient of thermal expansion by forming a slanted groove and similarly slanted track width regulating groove parallel to the above on a cap forming face and joining a substrate and a core block in a body interposing heat resisting resin between them. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic oxide substrate 1 such as Mn-Zn group ferrite etc., is covered with a film 2 for absorbing distortion such as rubber group photoresist, polyimide group resin etc., and plural parallel grooves 3 having angles of 20 deg.-80 deg. are formed through the film. The whole face including the slanting faces of the grooves 3 is covered with a ferromagnetic metallic thin film 5 and inside of the grooves is filled with glass 6. Further, a groove 7 that regulates the track width is provided through the films 2 and 5 along the grooves 3, and this is also filled with glass 11. Core blocks 10 having similar grooves 5 and 7 are joined on the substrate 1 with the film 2 remaining on the surface of the substrate between and with grooves 5 and 7 crisscross alternately. The substrate 1 and block 10 including these are cut to make individual head.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of distortion in the pattern form of etched groove by making electrolytic etching on ferrite by giving a period to apply voltage to between ferrite and counter electrode and a period to short circuit the both. CONSTITUTION:The ferrite single crystal 15 whose surface except etched portion is coated with an etching resist is connected electrically to the conductor 16. Then, the ferrite 15 and the platinized counter electrode 16 are dipped in an electrolytic etching liquor (e.g., a 0.005 to 10 mole/l concentration of phosphoric acid solution), and a 3 to 30 V voltage is applied across the ferrite 15 as cathode and the counter electrode 16 for a definite hour. Then, the ferrite 15 and the counter electrode 16 are kept under a short-circuit. The electrolytic etching of the ferrite 15 is made by repeating the electrification and the short-circuit definite times in this way. The electrification time per one time is 5 to 60 sec and the short-circuit time is 1/50 to 50 times as much as the electrification time.
