Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve productivity by easily performing write work without performing the exchange work of a magnetic head when a positioning signal for a magnetic disk on the surface of which irregularity is formed is written. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head 2 is moved in the radius direction of the magnetic disk 1 by rotating the magnetic disk 1 and as impressing a first DC current to the magnetic head 2, and all the magnetic layers 12 of the recessed part 13 and projecting part 14 of the magnetic disk 1 are magnetized in the same direction. After that, the magnetic head 2 is moved in the radius direction of the magnetic disk 1 as impressing a second DC current with polarity opposite to that of the first DC current to the magnetic head 2, and only the magnetic layer 12 of the projecting part 13 of the magnetic disk 1 is magnetized in an opposite direction.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the respective quantities of servo information and data information by adopting the structure to laminate patterned magnetic layers for servo on at least one surface of a substrate and magnetic layers for data thereon. CONSTITUTION:The constitution to laminate the magnetic layers 12 for servo which have a high coercive force Hc and are patterned and the magnetic layers 13 for data which have the coercive force Hc lower than the coercive force of the above-mentioned magnetic layers thereon on at least one surface of the substrate 11 is adopted. The servo information and the data information can be recorded at the respectively large recording quantities without hindering the respective information quantities thereof with each other by such laminated constitution. The servo information in the magnetic layers 12 for servo are recorded as the shape patterns of the magnetic layers 12 and further the magnetic layers 12 for servo are constituted by the high-coercive force magnetic layers and, therefore, the servo information is surely held regardless of recording, reproducing, rewriting, etc., of the magnetic layers 13 for data constituted of the high-coercive force magnetic layers. The recording quantities of both of the servo information and the data information are sufficiently increased in this way.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure a minute gap with high accuracy by notching the rear end side of a recording medium opposed-contact surface of a pseudo head, to an inclined surface shape and using it as a reflection surface, and changing a light beam from a light source, to the head direction of the pseudo head by this reflection surface. CONSTITUTION:A light beam generated from a light source 1 passes through a filter system 2 and reflected by a half mirror 4 in a microscope 3, and radiated to a pseudo head 6 provided on a rotary drum 5. The tip side of the pseudo head 6, namely, a recording medium opposed-contact surface 11 is polished to a cylindrical shape, and the rear end side is notched to an inclined surface shape, and a slanting surface 12 of a specular state is formed. The light beam of a two-wavelength component, which has been inputted to the pseudo head 6 is reflected by the reflection surface 12, and reflected by the recording medium opposed-contact surface 11 and the surface 7a of a recording medium 7. These reflected light beams become interference light beams and form an image by a video camera 8 through the reflection surface 12 and the half mirror 4 again. A luminance signal from the camera 8 is inputted to a waveform storage device 9 and A/D-converted, and thereafter, a spacing quantity S is calculated by a personal computer 10.

SOLUTION: The data storage apparatus 10 is provided with a storage device 14 incorporating a storage medium to store data, and a casing for surrounding the storage device 14 to seal it. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a stripe-shaped texture having extremely shallow depth by forming a resist thin film having a prescribed uneven pattern on a master dish of a stamper, then forming a plated layer by laminating a first plated layer formed by an electroless plating method and a second plated layer formed by an electrolytic plating method and peeling off the plated layer from the master disk to produce the stamper having the inverted uneven pattern. SOLUTION: A photoresist layer 11 having the prescribed uneven pattern is formed on an almost disc-shaped glass substrate 10 having a hole of a prescribed diameter in the center. The first plated layer 13 is formed into a thin film shape on the glass substrate 10 having the formed layer 11 by the electroless plating method by using NiP or the like. The second plated layer 14 is formed on the layer 13 by changing the electroless plating method to the electrolytic plating method when the layer 13 reached to the prescribed thickness to form the plated layer 15. The layer 15 is peeled off from the substrate 10. The front surface of the peeled layer 15 is washed and the rear surface is polished to prepare the stamper.
