PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug which enables flaws on the internal surface of a hollow tube stock formed by piercing/rolling to be prevented, and can be produced without requiring long production time and has the prolonged life. SOLUTION: The plug 2 includes: a front portion 21 having a convex curvature; a column portion 22 having approximately a columnar shape; a trunk portion 23 having an outside diameter which is enlarged gradually toward the rear end; a mandrel connecting portion 26 provided in the rear end portion of the plug 2 and a lubricant jetting hole 24 which penetrates the trunk portion 23 from the mandrel connecting portion 26 and opened on the surface of the column portion 22. On the surface of the base metal of the front portion 21 and of the trunk portion 23, a coating film 27 which is composed of oxides and Fe is formed by arc spraying method using an iron wire. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a seamless pipe while effectively suppressing carburization on the seamless pipe without causing a disturbance in the operation. SOLUTION: The process comprises the steps of: cleaning of a transfer equipment installed at least between a lubricant coating device 7 located in a transfer step of a mandrel bar B and the entrance of the mandrel mill 8; cleaning of the mandrel bar B used for stretch-rolling in the upstream of the lubricant coating device 7; and coating of a non-graphite lubricant over the mandrel bar B by the lubricant coating device 7. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a black film-coated seamless steel pipe of a 13Cr series stainless steel excellent in corrosion resistance by providing at least the surface in a stainless seamless steel pipe contg. a specified amt. of Cr with a scale layer as an internal layer and incorporating the scale layer with FeCr2 O4 and a specified ratio or above of Fe2 SiO4 . SOLUTION: This stainless steel pipe is the one in which at least the surface in the pipe is provided with a scale layer as an internal layer 4 and contg. 11 to 15 wt.% Cr, and the scale layer is incorporated with FeCr2 O4 and >=5 vol.% Fe2 SiO4 or incorporated with FeCr2 O4 , FeO and Fe2 SiO4 . In the case of the former, the adhesion of scale is improved, and in the case of the latter, its corrosion resistance and adhesion are remarkably improved. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a seamless martensitic stainless steel tube with high efficiency, and particularly, a manufacturing method by highly efficient descaling. SOLUTION: A steel, having a composition containing, by weight, 0.1-0.5% C, 0.35-1% Si, 0.1-1.2% Mn, 11-16% Cr, and 0-6.5% Ni, is formed into a seamless steel tube by the tube making process including piercing rolling and finish rolling. This seamless steel tube is hardened and then subjected to heating treatment in an atmosphere containing >=12% steam to undergo tempering treatment.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antioxidant agent which can prevent the formation of scale on the surface of a heated metallic material more effectively compared with conventional antioxidant agents.SOLUTION: The antioxidant agent comprises multiple glass frits having different softening points and an inorganic compound having a melting point of ≤600°C. The inorganic compound can be softened mostly in a low temperature range around 600°C. The multiple glass frits can be softened mostly in a temperature range of from 600 to 1,300°C. Therefore, the antioxidant agent can cover the surface of a metallic material in a broad temperature range and can prevent the oxidization of the surface of the metallic material and thereby prevent the formation of scale on the surface.
