Abstract: Un procedimiento de codificación de imagen para codificar bloques de instantáneas por medio de inter predicción basándose en instantáneas de referencia que incluyen instantáneas de referencia a corto plazo e instantáneas de referencia a largo plazo, comprendiendo el procedimiento de codificación de imagen: derivar un candidato para un predictor de vector de movimiento a usarse en la codificación de un vector de movimiento para un bloque actual a codificarse, desde un primer vector de movimiento para un bloque vecino que se incluye en una instantánea actual que incluye el bloque actual y es adyacente al bloque actual; añadir el candidato derivado a una lista de candidatos; seleccionar un predictor de vector de movimiento desde la lista de candidatos; y codificar el bloque actual usando el vector de movimiento para el bloque actual y una instantánea de referencia para el bloque actual, y codificar el vector de movimiento para el bloque actual usando el predictor de vector de movimiento seleccionado; en el que, cuando la instantánea de referencia para el bloque actual es una instantánea de referencia a corto plazo, la derivación incluye: determinar si una primera instantánea de referencia para el bloque vecino es una instantánea de referencia a largo plazo o una instantánea de referencia a corto plazo, en el que el candidato se deriva desde el primer vector de movimiento únicamente cuando la primera instantánea de referencia para el bloque vecino se determina que es una instantánea de referencia a corto plazo, y escalar el primer vector de movimiento usando una relación de una primera distancia temporal entre la instantánea de referencia para el bloque actual y la instantánea actual y una segunda distancia temporal entre la primera instantánea de referencia para el bloque vecino y la instantánea actual, y derivar el primer vector de movimiento escalado como el candidato, cuando la primera instantánea de referencia para el bloque vecino se determina que es una instantánea de referencia a corto plazo; en el que, cuando la instantánea de referencia para el bloque actual es una instantánea de referencia a largo plazo, el primer vector de movimiento se deriva como el candidato.
