    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent resistance to hydrolysis and mold and flow properties, yielding no flash in molding and exhibiting little variation of surface gloss and color tone in heat-treatment of molded article by using a specific epoxy compound in combination with a carbodiimide compound and blending specific amounts thereof. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. aromatic polyester (e.g., polybutylene terephthalate) is blended with (A) 0.005-10pts.wt., preferably 0.2-3pts.wt. epoxy compound expressed by the formula (Ar is 6-20C aromatic group, alicyclic group, n is 0, 1-20) and preferably having 0-2 average degree of polymerization, 1-3 weight-average molecular weight/number-average molecular weight and (B) 0.005-5pts.wt., preferably 0.05-2pts.wt. carbodiimide compound (e.g., dicyclohexylcarbodiimide).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition suitable for machine working part, etc., having excellent mechanical strength, resistance to heat cycle and resistance to hydrolysis, by melting and mixing aromatic polyester, epoxy compound and inorganic filler, and thereafter mixing with a specific modified ethylene-base copolymer. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. aromatic polyester having 1.15-2 relative viscosity (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate), (B) 1-120pts.wt. inorganic filler (e.g., glass fiber) and (C) 0.01-10pts.wt. epoxy compound are blended, molten and mixed, and thereafter (D) 1-70pts.wt. a modified ethylene-base copolymer obtained by graft copolymerizing 0.01-10wt.% unsaturated carboxylic acid (derivative) onto ethylene-base copolymer, is blended, molten and mixed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin composition improved in moldability in a mold at a relatively low temperature and in the impact resistance, heat resistance, etc., of a molding, by mixing polyethylene terephthalate with a specified polyoxyalkylene group-containing metal sulfonate. CONSTITUTION:A polyoxyalkylene group-containing metal sulfonate of formula I (wherein Ar is an aromatic residue which may be substituted, R1 is a 2-20C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, R2 and R3 are each H or a group of formula II, M is an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal, n is 2-20, and m is 1 or 2) is prepared. 0.05-15pts.wt. compound of formula I is added to 100pts.wt. polyethylene terephthalate. Examples of the compound of formula I include sodium polyoxyethylene phenyl ether sulfoacetate and sodium polyoxyethylene monobutylphenyl ether sulfoacetate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce an aromatic polyester composition with high hydrolytic resistance, excellent molding flowability and weather resistance, by adding a specific epoxy compound, a hindered phenol compound and/or a sulfur- containing ester. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. of an aromatic polyester, preferably PETE, PBTF of 1.15-2 relative viscosity, are mixed with (B) 0.01-10pts.wt., preferably 0.05-5pts.wt. of an epoxy compound of formula I (Ar is preferably 6-20C aromatic, alicyclic group, preferably 4-phenylene; n is 0, 1-20, preferably 0, 1-10) and (C) 0.01-5pts.wt., preferably 0.05-3pts.wt. of a hindered phenol consisting of formula II (R is 1-20C alkyl) units and having 500 or more molecular weight and/or a sulfur-containing ester (preferably didodecyl thiodipropionate).
