    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title polymer as a material for an inorganic fiber excellent in mechanical and thermal properties and conductivity, by bonding a specified organosilicon polymer to a block polymer through oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A precursor polymer obtained by reacting an organosilicon polymer with a polynuclear aromatic compound is reacted with a transition metal compound of the formula (wherein M is Ti or Zr and R is alkyl or phenyl) to obtain an organometallic polymer comprising an organosilicon polymer part comprising (Si-CH2) units (a) and (Si-Si) units (b), having side chain groups selected from among H, lower alkyls, phenyl and silyls as side chains of the Si atom, wherein the ratio of the total number of units (a) to the total number of units (b) is 1:0-20, and a part (c) which corresponds to said organosilicon polymer part in which at least part of the silicon atoms are bonded to M bonds through oxygen and a part (d) which corresponds to said organosilicon polymer part in which at least part of the silicon atoms are bonded directly to Ar bonds (wherein Ar is a polynuclear aromatic compound or its product of heat treatment), wherein the ratio of the total number of units (c) to units (d) is 2-500:1, and having a number-average MW of 500-100,000.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve strength, toughness and heat resistance by heating a blend of specified inorg. fibers with specified ceramic powder. CONSTITUTION: Each of inorg. fibers having 5-20μm diameter is composed of an inner layer consisting of, by weight, 40-60% Si, 20-40% C, 5-10% Ti and/or Zr and 2-30% O, a 2nd layer contg. 5-90% C and a 1st layer contg. 5-50% O as a surface layer. The inorg. fibers are heated at 1,200-1,500 deg.C in an atmosphere of CO after a precursor polymer of ceramic is impregnated if necessary. The inorg. fibers are then mixed with ceramic powder having 0.1-1μm particle diameter and an aspect ratio of 1.5-1,000 and the resultant mixture is heated at 800-1,500 deg.C in an inert atmosphere.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To use an element at a high temperature by constituting the element by sticking silver electrodes to at least one end section of an inorganic body composed of Si, C, M (M: Ti or Zr), and O. CONSTITUTION:This element is constituted by sticking silver electrodes to at least one end section of an inorganic body composed of Si, C, M (M: Ti or Zr), and O. A molded body of a crystalline or amorphous ceramic is used as the inorganic body. The crystalline ceramic can be a fibrous crystal aggregate composed at least of one kind selected from among massive, flaky, and acicular SiC crystals and microcrystals of SiC and TiC (or ZrC). The amorphous ceramic can be a fibrous amorphous inorganic sintered body. Therefore, the element can be increased in strength, decreased in resistance, and has a current self-limiting function at a high temperature of 300 deg.C.
