Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink set that emits fluorescence by a fluorescent material and causes a visible change in ink appearance when exposed to activated energy, an inkjet system and a method. SOLUTION: The ink set includes at least one kind of fluorescent phase change ink containing at least kind of a fluorescent material. When the ink set is exposed to an activated energy, the fluorescent material emits fluorescence and visually changes an ink appearance. The inkjet system and the method each comprise making a color document using a fluorescent phase change ink. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve levelling free of offset and prevent ink split and-or micro-banding while improving the entire image quality and brilliance.SOLUTION: A fountain solution functioning as a release layer includes a mixture having one or more elements selected from a group composed of a hydrosoluble film-forming polymer, an acid component, a pH buffers, a moistening agent, a surface tension lowering component, and in a certain occasion, a biocide, a phlegmatizer, a chelator, an agent for accelerating drying and a defoamer. The fountain solution is incorporated into a hydrophilic roll material and performs levelling of contact of a UV-curable gel ink that is applied to an image reception material.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved pigmented phase change ink composition, such as phase change ink having a pigment colorant stably and well dispersed in the ink. SOLUTION: The pigmented phase change ink composition includes an ink vehicle, a dispersant, and pigment particles. The dispersant is a compound represented by formula R 1 -CONH-R 2 -X. Wherein, R 1 is alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, or arylalkyl having at least 23 carbon atoms; R 2 is alkylene, arylene, alkylarylene, or arylalkylene having at least 2 carbon atoms; and X is a quaternary ammonium salt. The ink has resistance to substantial aggregation and sedimentation of the pigment particles even when exposed to a freeze-drying cycle in the melt. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase change ink having excellent print quality characteristics. SOLUTION: The phase change ink icludes a colorant and an ink carrier comprising a tri-ester expressed by formula wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , each, independently of the other, is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, or alkylaryl group, and n is an integer from about 1 to about 50. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink set composed of a plurality of solid phase change inks. SOLUTION: Not all but at least one of inks in the ink set includes an ink vehicle, a pigment, and a fluorescent agent and the rest inks include the ink vehicle and a pigment but a fluorescent agent. At least a first ink group and a second ink group in the ink set form a combination, the first ink group and the second ink group in the combination show substantially the same color in forming an image under surrounding light conditions. The first ink group and the second ink group in the combination contain different amounts of the fluorescent agent, and the fluorescent agent emits fluorescence by exposure to activation energy, generating a visible change in pattern colors formed in the image by the first ink group in comparison with those in the second ink group.
