Abstract:
A handboard for body surfing waves is described. The handboard has an adjustable strap that can be tightened or loosened depending on the size of the user's hand and the anticipated turbulence that the user expects to find in the surf. The strap is screwed into mated holes in the deck of the handboard, and there are several sets of screws so that a user can adjust the position of the strap on the handboard, thereby allowing a user to move the strap up or down the handboard depending on how he/she wants to trim the handboard. The handboard has a leash plug so that a user can be attached to the handboard, and an attachment site to which cameras and other accessories can be attached.
Abstract:
The present invention has to do with a method and system for coating and curing engineered wood products (EWP) in general, and the edges of EWPs in particular. One method for coating and curing medium density fiberboard (MDF) and other engineered wood laminates using coatings is provided.
Abstract:
A method and a system for applying hot melt adhesive powder onto a non-metallic surface are disclosed. The hot melt adhesive powder is sprayed out from a spray head while being charged with electrostatic charges, and then the charged hot melt adhesive powder will be attached to the whole surface of a non-metallic component by electrostatic force, or only attached to a desired area of the non-metallic component by pre-coating the desired area with conductive liquid. By spraying the hot melt adhesive in the form of powder, there is no need to heat the adhesive in advance. When the surface of the non-metallic component is 3-dimensional, the charged adhesive powder can be introduced onto the surface of the to-be-bonded component and attached to the desired surface without the omni-directional spraying operation. Excessive powder will be easily blown or brushed away and will be recycled.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a thermoset polymer substrate having applied thereto an ionizable compound and an electrostatic powder coating. In an embodiment, the present invention provides a thermoset polymer substrate having an image on at least one surface thereof, said substrate having applied thereto an ionizable compound, an electrostatic powder coating, and a carrier for transferring the image thereon. Methods of providing a powder coating composition on a substrate, and methods of providing an image on at least one surface of the substrate are also presented.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for curing powdered coatings on the face of porous wood products, such as medium density fibreboard (MDF), wherein a pair of inclined infrared catalytic heaters are used to apply heat directly onto the side edges of the board. In addition, catalytic heaters that are normally used to heat and cure the face surface of the board are moved father back to reduce their effectiveness and to limit out-gassing of entrapped air from the inner low density core of the board. This arrangement also allows the coating to cure at the side edges of the board at approximately the same rate as the face of the board, promoting a more uniform curing of the powder coating.
