Abstract:

A fibrous product comprises at least one top ply (12) with an embossing pattern forming pillow-like chambers (20) at least partially surrounded by first embossing protuberances (18); at least one middle ply (14) embossed in register with the at least one top ply (12) so that second embossing protuberances (22) of the at least one middle ply (14) nest into the pillow-like chambers (20) of the at least one top ply (12); and at least one bottom ply (16) in register with the at least one top ply (12) and the at least one middle ply (14) being bonded to both the at least one top ply (12) and the at least one middle ply (14) at bonding regions (24); wherein the at least one bottom ply (16) comprises non-embossed areas and embossed areas preferably provided with a micro-embossing pattern; whereby the unembossed areas of the bottom ply (16) are in register with the top ply (12) and the middle ply (14).
Abstract:
The rotating cylinder comprises: an elongated inner core (12) which is substantially rigid and an interchangeable sleeve (45) which is fitted onto the core; the sleeve is axially and angularly constrained to said core and is provided on its external surface with a raised pattern. The internal surface of the interchangeable sleeve and the external surface of the inner core are conical surfaces which are mutually complementary; axial and angular locking of the interchangeable sleeve and the inner core is achieved by the friction between the conical surfaces which are forced axially one onto the other.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention concerns an embossed sheet (10) consisting of at least a cotton-wool-like cellulose ply with basic weight ranging between 12 and 30 g/m comprising an embossing pattern (16, 18) including at least a first series of protuberances (16) projecting on one surface of the ply (14) and whereof the density is more than 20 protuberances per cm . The invention is characterised in that each protuberance (16) of the first series comprises a polyhedral frustum and a flattened free end section (30) with rounded edges.

Abstract:
A method of embossing a cellulosic fibrous web is disclosed. The embossing pattern comprises a first embossing pattern having firs embossed elements and a second embossing pattern having second embossed elements. The method comprises embossing the web in a first embossing nip formed between a first rigid roll (10) and a second rigid roll (12), and embossing the web in a second embossing nip formed between the second rigid roll and a resilient roll (14). The first rigid roll (10) has a pattern of first male elements, the second rigid roll (12) has a pattern of female elements and a pattern of second male elements. The pattern of first male elements is arranged to engage the pattern of female elements as the rolls rotate such that the engagement of the patterns provides the web with the first embossing pattern. The pattern of second male elements is arranged to maintain noncontact with the first rigid roll (10) as the rolls rotate such that the pattern of second male elements substantially does not provide an embossing pattern on the web in the first embossing nip. The pattern of second male elements is arranged to maintain contact with the resilient roll (14) so as to provide the web with the second embossing pattern. A cellulosic fibrous web made by the method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Rolled creped paper products, such as kitchen towels, can be provided with high roll bulk and a high degree of roll firmness by steaming the dry, creped paper sheet immediately prior to embossing the sheet between matched steel embossing rolls. The steaming preconditions the sheet such that the resulting sheet embossments maintain their shape and structural strength, thereby imparting greater bulk and firmness to the wound roll of product. In addition, the sheet experiences less cross-machine strength reduction as a consequence of the embossing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tissue paper sheet (1) comprising one or more plies (6, 7), each having a basis weight of approximately 12 to approximately 70g/m and a part of the surface of which is marked. According to the invention, the surface part is marked by an impressed pattern (5, 5') simulating a watermark, the impression being applied to one side of the sheet (1), the opposite side corresponding to said impression being plane, the marked surface being smooth, glossy and translucent, and the marked surface comprising at least one marked unit region wherein the ratio of the thickness thereof to the area thereof is less than 0,027. The present invention applies to the manufacture of tissue paper sheets and of disposable decorative handkerchiefs.

Abstract:
An embossed paper laminage having two laminae. The laminae are embossed so that each embossed site of one lamina is adhesively joined to the nonembossed region of the other lamina. The laminate is made by two close tolerance pattern rolls juxtaposed to form a nip. Each pattern roll has radially extending protuberances which contact the periphery of the other pattern roll intermediate its protuberances. The laminae are fed through the nip in face-to-face relationship and are embossed and adhesively joined to the other lamina by the radially extending protuberances.
Abstract in simplified Chinese:
