Abstract:
A doctor blade system for printing units is disclosed, which is arranged for applying ink, or the like to a rotatable cylinder in a printing unit, comprising an elongated frame, having a support and at least one clamp, which frame is arranged parallel to and outside the cylinder and on which are mounted, on each clamp of the frame, an elongated doctor blade, which is arranged for operative wiping engagement against the cylinder, each clamping portion comprising an elongated slit into which a doctor blade is intended to be partly introduced and fixed by a clamp, wherein the clamp is resiliently arranged for providing a damping action for the doctor blade. A doctor blade clamping device is also disclosed, as well as a chambered doctor blade system, a printing unit, and a method for attaching a clamping portion of a chambered doctor blade frame.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a calibration device for the pressure of a scraping device blade, which abuts the periphery of a roller or cylinder, in particular, of a paper machine, a printing machine, a calender or the like, comprising a holding blade, a sensor holder mounted thereto, and a pressure sensor, wherein the holding blade, the sensor holder and the pressure sensor are positioned such that the position of the pressure sensor on the periphery of the roller or cylinder corresponds to the position of abutment of the blade. The invention also concerns a method for adjusting a contact pressure of a blade which abuts the periphery of a roller or cylinder, in particular of a paper machine, a printing machine, a calender or the like.
Abstract:
An instantaneous adjustment device for a doctoring blade assembly operatively linked to a cylinder in a printing press is provided which includes, interposed to the piston rod of a cylinder-piston unit actuated by compressed air and the oscillating holder assembly accommodating the doctoring blade, a mechanical means, such as a spring for storing up a force, and/or a means effective to periodically transfer an impact force to the doctoring blade oscillating holder.
Abstract:
An assembly for supporting and guiding a doctor blade to be applied against the surface of a rotary printing cylinder in a printing machine. The assembly includes the combination of a backing member which is secured on the edge of the doctor blade which is remote from the surface of the cylinder, the provision of parallel surfaces in the mounting with which the backing member is in sliding contact, and the use of a bag within the mounting and which serves for the application of fluid pressure on the backing member to urge the blade in the direction against the surface of the printing cylinder.
Abstract:
An assembly for holding a doctor blade in adjustable position with respect to the printing cylinder. An air loaded clamping device locks the doctor blade firmly in operative position in its holder and when the doctor blade is to be removed, the air load can be relieved and the doctor blade and its mounting quickly and easily withdrawn in an endwise direction from the printing equipment without disturbing any of the other printing equipment. The adjustment also includes an air load device for urging the doctor blade against the cylinder with a predetermined amount of pressure; this biasing of the blade into proper engagement with the cylinder is made by the air loaded device and through an adjustable gear; the adjustable gear in turn, can be adjusted initially to make the proper preliminary adjustment of the blade relative to the printing cylinder.
