Abstract: PURPOSE: A beam switch for an elevator is provided to ensure elongated service life, safe use in an emergency, and stability against external impact. CONSTITUTION: A beam switch for an elevator comprises a light-emitting part(10) and a light-receiving part(20). The light-emitting part is located a front side of a touch panel(T) and projects beam(B). The receiving part is installed on the opposite side of the light-emitting part with the touch panel interposed and receives the beam coming out from the light-emitting part. The beam switch is activated when the transmission from the light-emitting part to the receiving part is interrupted.
