Abstract:
Organic peroxide curable polydiorganosiloxane compositions having improved release from metal molds upon curing are disclosed. In addition to the conventional high molecular weight polydiorganosiloxane gum, reinforcing filler, structure control additives, and curing agent, the improved compositions of this invention contain from 0.05 to 3 parts by weight of a polydiorganosiloxane fluid having methyl groups and carboxyfunctional groups as substituents.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A modified graphite fluoride, obtained by partially decomposing a graphite fluoride by irradiation with electromagnetic waves, having improved lubricity characteristics, and suitable for a solid lubricants. CONSTITUTION: A modified graphite fluoride obtained by decomposing and modifying within 0.01W50wt%, preferably 0.1W10wt%, range graphite fluoride (GF), consisting of (CF) n or/and (C 2 F) n , and having generally 0.01W100μ particle diameter under irradiation with electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves of any wavelengths generally called the electromagnetic waves within about 10 -17 W10 5 m wavelength region, may be used, but preferably the wavelength is within 10 -4 W10 -7 cm range. An organic solvent, e.g. ethanol, or water containing a surfactant is used as a dispersing agent for the GF. An aqueous solution of an alkali, e.g. NaOH, is used for accelerating the decomposition rate of the GF. When the resultant modified GF is used as a lubricant, the moldability of a molding material is improved due to the good dispersibility in oil, etc. and good compatibility with a resin, and a lower specific abrasion ratio than the unmodified GF is exhibited. Abstract:
A composition comprising (a) fine spherical particles of an inorganic substance such as alumina, (b) an aqueous adhesive agent such as a petroleum resin emulsion, and water. It is preferred for better effect that the composition further comprises one or more selected from among (c) a wisker, (d) a powder of an inorganic substance in a form of a scaly crystal, (e) a powder of a metal hydroxide or an inorganic substance having bound water, and (f) a lubricant aid. The composition is free from problems of the occurrence of environmental pollution and the risk of misoperation of an automatic machine, which accompany a conventional graphite lubricating and releasing agent, and that of the danger of smoking or firing, which accompanies a conventional lubricating and releasing agent dispersed in an oil, and is useful as an aqueous lubricating and releasing agent for hot or cold forging using a non-graphite inorganic substance, which is free from occurrence of the deposition on a mold and an under fill phenomenon.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved system for conducting cooling in an extremely low temperature. SOLUTION: A multicomponent refrigerant is compressed in a compressor lubricated with a poly-α-olefin-based oil, the oil is removed from the compressed refrigerant, and the compressed refrigerant is expanded to generate the cooling at the extremely low temperature for the purpose of supply preparation (of the cooling) to a cooling receptor. Abstract:
A grease composition for a constant velocity joint containing a base oil, a thickener, boron nitride powders, and a sulfur-phosphorus containing extreme pressure agent. The content of the thickener is 2 to 25 weight %, that of the boron nitride powders is 0.5 to 20 weight %, and that of the sulfur phosphorus containing extreme pressure agent is 0.1 to 10 weight %, each based on a total weight of the grease composition. The grease composition exhibits superior anti-flaking performance and can prolong the life time of a constant velocity joint.
Abstract:
Waterborne lubricants comprising: (A) water-soluble inorganic salt; (B) homogeneously dispersed solid lubricant; (C) at least one homogeneously emulsified substance selected from mineral oils, animal and plant oils and fats, and synthetic oils; (D) surfactant; and (E) water, in which the weight ratio (B)/(A) is from 0.05:1 to 2:1 and the weight ratio {C/(A + B)} is from 0.05:1 to 1:1, provide a one-step, highly lubricating waterborne lubricant for use in the cold plastic working of metals. This waterborne lubricant can replace the conversion coating treatment (phosphate, oxalate, etc.) + reactive soap treatment combined lubrication system now in general use and is free of the environmental issues associated with the combined lubrication system, provides for facile coating removal, and is not subject to the decline in seizure resistance caused by nonuniform add-on when large numbers of workpieces are treated together by immersion.

PCT No. PCT/CA97/00658 Sec. 371 Date Jun. 22, 1999 Sec. 102(e) Date Jun. 22, 1999 PCT Filed Sep. 11, 1997 PCT Pub. No. WO98/13445 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 2, 1998The present invention relates to novel lubricant compositions comprising a solid lubricant and a binding agent in water medium suitable for lubricating steel-steel interfaces such as tractor-trailer couplings, rail-wheel systems and other heavy duty applications. The invention also relates to compositions described above which include friction modifiers with high or very high and positive coefficients of friction such that the coefficient of friction is considerably higher than the solid lubricant. The invention further relates to compositions comprising a binding agent and a friction modifier with a very high and positive coefficient of friction in a water medium.
