Abstract:
Abstract:
A tire belt (18) for a pneumatic tire comprising a rubber strip (20) and reinforcement cords (22) embedded in the rubber strip (20). The strip (20) comprises two or more portions made of different compounds optimized respectively towards different desired belt properties. These portions can comprise an annular coating (24) surrounding the reinforcement cords (22) and a ribbon (26) surrounding the annular coating (24). The annular coating (24) can be made of a compound optimized towards one set of desired belt properties ( e.g. , good rubber-to-cord adhesion) and the ribbon (26) can be made a different compound optimized towards another set of desired belt properties ( e.g. , good thermal aging stability, cut growth performance, etc.).
Abstract:
A steel cord-rubber composite (10) is provided, that has improved initial adhesion property and adhesion property against aging between the steel cord and the rubber composition with improved manufacturing cost efficiency. A steel cord-rubber composition composite includes a coating layer and a steel cord (1), and the coating layer includes an inner coating layer (2) formed of a rubber composition containing a rubber component, a cobalt compound and sulfur and directly covering the steel cord, and an outer coating layer (3) formed of a rubber composition of which contents of cobalt compound and sulfur are smaller than those of the inner coating layer and coating the outer portion of the inner coating layer.
Abstract:
57 A rubber adherable ferrous substrate for use in reinforcing vulcanizable elastomeric products includes a cold worked steel wire having a brass alloy coating of specified compact structure on its surface. There is provided also a process for covering a steel wire substrate with a compact alloy coating, in particular a thin brass diffusion coating having a specified permeability.
Abstract:
A tendon for use in posttensioning prestressed concrete comprising a multi-wire strand (12) wherein individual peripherally abutting wires (16) define both internal (20) and external (18) interstices between themselves and a central wire (14), the external interstices (18) being substantially fully filled with a dielectric plastics material such as a high molecular polyolefinic material e.g. high density polyethylene. The plastics material forms an encasement (22) completely surrounding the strand and providing it with a smooth outer surface of circular cross-section. A friction-reducing, grease-like material (28) is coated on the encasement and the entire structure is thereafter enclosed in a plastics jacket (32). The above structure is formed by progressively extrusion coating the wire strand with the dielectric plastic, coating the strand with the grease-like material and subsequently applying to the thus coated composite with a plastics material to form the jacket.
Abstract:
A rubber-reinforcing cord for reinforcing a rubber product comprising a plurality of strands, a method of manufacturing the cord, and a rubber product using the cord. The cord comprises the strands having a plurality of bundled yarns and a film formed to cover the plurality of bundled yarns. The plurality of strands are adhered to each other through the film, and the film contains a material crosslinked by a heat treatment. The method of manufacturing the rubber-reinforcing cord comprises the steps of (i) forming the strands having the plurality of bundled yarns and the film formed to cover the plurality of bundled yarns and (ii) adhering the plurality of strands to each other through the film by twining the plurality of strands with each other. The film comprises the material crosslinked by the heat treatment. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
