Abstract:
A protective cover formed substantially of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene yarns and having first and second opposing edges connected by a high shear strength hook and loop fastener system. The high shear strength hook and loop fastener system includes areas of a plurality of high shear strength hooks along opposing edges of the cover and an intermediate disposable strip having a plurality of loops on both sides of the strip configured to be received between the areas having the plurality of hooks. The cover wraps around the sling so that a portion of the first edge and second edge overlap with the intermediate disposable strip to form the releasable connection. When the edges are released, the intermediate strip may be replaced, when worn, by a new intermediate strip with the remainder of the cover and fastener system being reusable.
Abstract:
In a textile protective sheath for a lifting accessory such as a roundsling (1), lifting strap or the like, which lifting accessory has a woven base fabric (4) and at least one rib (5) which is carried by the woven base fabric (4), which rib (5) projects outwards from the woven base fabric (4) and is formed by a rib fibre (H1, H2) which is interwoven with the woven base fabric (4), optimised protection against cuts with, at the same time, good properties in use and the ability to be produced easily and inexpensively is achieved in accordance with the invention by virtue of the fact that the rib fibre (H1, H2) is a high-performance fibre and, looking in the direction (L) in which the rib fibre (H1, H2) runs, the rib fibre (H1, H2) skips at least three weft filaments (6, 6a-6l) at a time of the woven base fabric (4) before it is drawn down below a weft filament (6) of the woven base fabric.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a rope or a rope element which comprises, in a manner known per se, a reinforcement made of a fiber material varying from the fiber material of the rope or the rope element, respectively. The rope or the rope element, respectively, according to the invention wherein at least one multifilament yarn and/or staple fiber yarn and/or at least one monofilament is/are at least partially provided as the fiber material of the reinforcement.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a heavy-duty roundsling, which comprises an endless load-bearing core containing multiple turns of a strand material comprising high-performance fibres, and a protective cover made from interlaced strands comprising high-performance fibres, and wherein the mass ratio of high-performance fibres in the core to high-performance fibres in the cover is from 0.15 to 2.0. Said roundsling shows an advantageous combination of properties, like high strength, low weight, and high durability; enabling a higher number of lifting operations than known metal or synthetic slings, especially of heavy goods with e.g. sharp edges.
Abstract:
An elongate sleeve for protecting elongate members and method of construction thereof has a textile sleeve with a wall having an inner surface providing a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve for receiving the elongate members. A resilient support member is arranged in communication with the wall. The support member has an arcuate shape in lateral cross-section with an outer convex surface facing outwardly from the axis for flush engagement with the inner surface of the wall and an inner concave surface facing inwardly toward the axis. The support member extends less than completely about a circumference of the inner surface.

Abstract:
A rope substitution belt which has a higher strength than a rope having the same mass, has a substantially circular section, and is equipped with belt portions for sewing on both sides. The belt is a narrow width woven fabric (10) including warps (6) and wefts (7) of synthetic fiber filaments. The belt includes a main body portion (2), a belt portion (4) and a connecting portion (3) for connecting the main body portion (2) to the belt portion (4), that are disposed in a longitudinal direction. The main body portion (2) has a structure with wadding yarns (5) which are woven into a hollow woven structure. The warp density coefficient in the hollow woven structure portion (22) is set to be not greater than 0.700. The belt portion (4) has a structure with a part, or the whole, of the wadding yarns (5) which are so arranged as to cross the wefts with the warps (6) of the hollow woven structure of the main body portion (2). The belt portion (4) has a width W which is at least 2.0 times the width W of the main body portion (2). The connecting portion (3) is constituted such that while the width is gradually changed, it step-wise shifts over a plurality of stages to the woven structure of the main body portion (2) or the belt portion (4).
Abstract:
A rope (10) comprising an inner portion (10a) comprising a plurality of multifilament fibers (100) in the length direction of the rope (10) and a woven jacket portion (10b) covering the inner portion (10a). The woven jacket portion (10b) contains a plurality of monofilament fibers (200) in the length direction of the rope (10) and at least one multifilament fiber (300) in the circumferential direction interwoven with the monofilament fibers (200). The monofilament fibers (200) of the woven jacket portion (10b) form the majority of the outer surface of the rope (10). The rope (10) can be used as a pulling rope facilitating the positioning of elongate items, such as electrical or optical cables within conduits (510) or protective sleeves (520).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an abrasion resistant product comprising a plurality of interlaced yarns wherein at least a first yarn having a tensile strength, having a value TS in N/tex, said first yarn containing a plurality of UHMWPE fibres having a titer, having a value T in den, wherein the ratio T/TS is at least 5 den.tex/N.
