    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tile in which a plurality of colors can be selected.SOLUTION: A modular plastic floor tile 102 has a tile body 104 of a first polymer compound and features overmolded onto the tile body from a second polymer compound. The polymer compounds are different from each other in hardness and/or color. The features include raised cushion members 106 on the upper surface and/or skins on support member cores downwardly depending from the tile lower surface. The cushion members on the upper surface are injection-molded from the lower surface through through-holes. Lateral edges of the tile are provided with latches which fit into loops with an interference. The loops flex in order to impose a compressive force on mating tile edges. The tile includes an overmolded peripheral seal.

    Abstract: A paving block comprising a prism-shaped paving block base. A plurality of parallel grooves are formed entirely across the top surface of the block base. An interval between adjacent grooves is substantially equal. When the paving blocks are laid next to each other, an interval from a joint defined between the adjacent paving blocks to a groove adjacent to the joint is equal to the groove interval. One side wall which serves as an adjacent surface in the block base is provided with a rib for engaging with an adjacent block base, and the opposite side wall includes an engaging groove for engaging with a rib of another adjacent block base. A paved surface laid with the above paving blocks allows passage of a vehicle with small-diameter wheels and a poor cushioning property such as a wheelchair and a pushchair, with wobbliness and shakes being suppressed at joints between the paving blocks and hardly transmitted to the vehicle. In installing the paving blocks, adjacent paving blocks can be integrated by engaging the rib of one paving block base with the engaging groove of another paving block base, thereby aligning the height of the paving blocks. Therefore, even when a heavy load is imposed on a single paving block, the load is dispersed over the adjacent paving blocks and less likely to cause a bump or surface unevenness due to settlement or inclination.
