Abstract:
An electrical cartridge fuse connector comprises two housing members (1, 2) adapted to be screw-threaded together to contain a cartridge fuse (100) and two termi- nats (11) each having a socket portion receiving an end of the fuse (100) and a conductor-connection portion (14) to which a conductor (200) can be connected without the use of tools. A conductor (200) connected to either of the terminals (11) leaves the housing (1, 2) by way of an axial hole (6, 10) in the end wall (5, 9) thereof and the terminal (11) is provided with a portion (18) which prevents trapping of the conductor (200) between the terminal (11) and the housing end wall (5, 9).

Abstract:
A fuseholder and connecting assembly for fusing a circuit and connecting two insulated wires (13, 14), comprising a pair of tubular housing members (15L, 15R), each housing member having a connection chamber, a fuse chamber and a conductive member (W1), extending between the connection chamber and the fuse chamber. The conductive member having a bullet shaped portion (23') located in the connection chamber and a fuse engaging portion (61) located in the fuse chamber. A clamp member (31') having an externally threaded surface for threaded engagement with the threaded interior wall of the connection chamber. The clamp member also having a through bore which is adapted to receive a wire end which is to be connected to the bullet shaped end of the conductive member and clamp the wire end in the connection chamber.
Abstract:
A wire harness connects multiple solar panel junction boxes to a recombiner box. The wire harness includes in-line fuse assemblies, with optional blocking diodes, so each string of solar panels is associated with one fuse. In the event of a blown fuse, only one upstream solar panel string is affected. Entire wire harnesses and/or individual in-line fuse assemblies can be easily swapped out, thereby decreasing the time and expense of troubleshooting and repairing.
Abstract:
An electrical joint assembly for connecting a plurality of conductors includes a busbar hub and a plurality of limiter modules. The busbar hub includes an electrically conductive busbar body and a plurality of conductor legs extending from the busbar body. The limiter modules each include a fuse element. Each of the limiter modules is connected to a respective one of the conductor legs and is connectable to a respective conductor to provide a fuse controlled connection between the respective conductor leg and the respective conductor. Each of the limiter modules is independently removable from the respective one of the conductor legs.
Abstract:
A fused conductor includes a first conductor portion, a second conductor portion, and a fuse element in electrical communication with the first and second conductor portions via at least one dual metal wire, the fuse element protected by a glass body bonded chemically to the dual metal wire.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a safety device, in particular for ensuring protection of a loom of cables. Said safety device comprises a strip fuse comprising at least two connection contacts. According to the invention, at least one connection piece is firmly arranged in an electrically conductive manner on at least one connection contact. The strip fuse and area of placement of the connection contacts and the connection piece are sealed at least in sections with the aid of an electrically insulating material. The protective device is embodied in a simple manner and can thus be produced economically.

Abstract:
An improved fusible link (18), comprising a length of a metal or metal alloy having a melting temperature of 450 DEG C or less, such as zinc alloy metal, which link may be shortened to increase the amperage rating of that fusible link. The improved fusible link (18) typically comprises a length of metal or metal alloy having two opposite ends (22, 24), and which has been coined along a portion of its length and between its two ends. The coining creates a flattened portion (36) of increased diameter. Between one and three holes may be placed in that flattened portion (36) and the flattened portion may be trimmed of excess material. The improved fusible link (18) may have a circular cross section, and preferably has a diameter of between 0.100"-0.500".
